Looks ok to me. You don't wanna go too far with this, or the WG acts kinda flaky.

The main thing is to get a nice, uniform radius on the 'inlet' side of the hole.

You'll want to do similar things to the outlet side of the WG recess.

Did you get some before pics?

I did not. Sorry. Maybe someone else can post pics of their stock 14cm housing nonported. I did take out quite a bit of metal i thought so I'm curious to see a comparison.

I believe that is a picture of a stock or 8cm housing ashman. there is a noticable difference between the stock and the 14cm housing.

I noticed. The 8cm looks tiny. Is the wastegate hole close to the same as how your was?

Yes it is close to the same but has less meat around the puck seat, if that makes sense. I could see how porting the stocker would make more of a difference that porting a 14cm. Still never hurts, i hope. ;)

Perfect timing I just took mine off today. I was looking at the wastegate port and I was wondering how that even regulated boost at all. Its not very conductive to flow. How hard is that to grind for porting? Will my dremel tool do the job?

Im still unsure on how to reclock this thing. Is it the snap ring thats on the back side for the conpressor? How the heck to I get that off? I did a search in this also. There needs to be some pictures on this. I might make a vid after I figure it out.

Here is what i used. a cheap die grinder, cheap little regulator, good quality bits, scratch awl, paint/die. Works really well i think. i can control the speed with the regulator so i'm not taking too much off at once.

have fun with that!

As for gaskets, people have different experiences. I tried replacing the exhausts with no gasket but the surface was crappy as it had rusted over the years with use etc so the seal was ass.

Then I made some gaskets from the cut out type stuff - they lasted 30 miles before I blew them out.

Then I read about RTV and thought about that route but before I got that far I got a recommend on some GM MLS exhaust gaskets.

I had my headers machined flat (sandpaper is just not good enough IMO) and also used the MLS gaskets ($22 or so for a set) but haven't run it yet. Others recommended it so I am optimistic to have no leaks.

As for the turbo, you can get a T3 gasket or you can use the Ultra HIgh Temp RTV on the turbo seal. I think it is named around here. I think I had that machined as well. You can get a gasket but that is posibly not necessary.

make sure if you use RTV or anything that it is sensor safe or you'll destroy your O2 sensor.

I suggest just getting your surfaces machined flat then using MLS GM gaskets on the headers and the Ultra High temp RTV stuff on the turbo.

good luck.
