Project "Ugly Duckling" has begun!

8/3/03:
-Ugly Duckling is purchased and brought home from CT to NJ.


-Once home, the truck was washed. More Exterior Pic Here.


-The interior was the first project at hand since thats where all the parts were. Once the parts were removed, looked over and boxed, cleaning and detailing the interior was started. More Interior Pics Here


-Also removed were the old alarm, stereo, fans & relays and turbo timer.

8/4/03:
-The remaining cylinder head on the engine was removed, along with exhaust manifolds, crossover, waterpump, battery, battery tray and various intercooler lines. More Drivetrain Pics Here.


8/5/03:
-No progress due to rain.

8/6/03:
-Driveshafts, transfercase and transmission were removed. More Drivetrain Pics Here

Dave, as for selling it soon or not putting it on the board, I really dont see why. Im not trying to hide anything. If people dont wanna pay what Im asking when Im done, then screw them. Blue Book value is $11,500 in only "good" condition. Im cleaning, redoing everything under the hood, im pulling this trans since it had "issues" as posted by the previous owner and i'll be installing my other built trans. All the cladding is getting pulled, repaired and repainted. I'll most likely be replacing the 2 damaged body panels and repainting the whole truck, and as already posted, the interior on this truck is BETTER than my own Ty. If someone on here cant respect the money and time I put into this truck to save an 89K mile truck, 2 owners and a clean title then Ill be happy to part it out right now and save myself the work.

Last time I checked, for most people time is money. Anyone who has a problem with me fixing this truck and turning a little profit, please keep your comments to yourself, cause all im gonna say is go F yourself, cause I dont really give a damn.

I think my reputation is pretty well documented on this forum. Other than being a loud mouth trouble maker , I am in no way a liar, a cheat, I dont sell shitty parts, I dont rip people off and I care much for the preservation of SyTys and not to mention run the largest, most sucessful SyTy organization ever created in the Northeast.

Having said that, im now going to work on the truck.

Well said, preservation is key for all of us. That truck looks to be in too good of shape to part. Again, be of luck, you're going to need it from time to time. I for one am having a blast getting mine back up to par......although you do have a bit more work than I. I personally will not sell mine as I love the sweat equity in it, it seems to make the truck have more value to me. And you are right, there's nothing wrong in fixing it up and making a few bucks off it, that's BUSINESS!!!
