Re: restoration frame off?

please dont ban him!! I really want to buy his Frame off restored Syclone.

By that time it's gonna have a 350 with crossfire injection in it with an aamco rebuilt trans I bet :)

Seriously man people are ragging on you because your not getting the big picture here. Go back and read your bs post here and tell me you don't sound like a 15 year old with daddy's credit card and no knowledge of how a car functions. I mean you make claims that you can do 15-20k worth of restoration and sell the truck for 10k with enough profit to purchase a nicer one to do again even though this current one's going to be better then any other on this forum right. Swallow that pride or ego and hope someone will help you when you need help because there's lots of pitfalls and wrong turns with these trucks which will only help with your el cheapo budget restore.

Re: restoration frame off?

Restoring one of these trucks is not a money making endeavor. Parts are expensive, and substantial knowledge is required to properly work on one. It's not the nuts and bolts either, its the logic behind the design, the "why".

I find you to be an offensive, self-centered individual. Many of the members here have been owners and enthusiasts for the better part of a decade. They know what they do because of trial and error, not because of being fed information. Calling out members is very disrespectful IMO, especially when you have been told who not to agitate. I have learned a lot from the members here, especially DaveP. If you're tough enough to stand up to his point-blank teachings, you will learn a vast amount.

Good luck with your truck.

Norm i am trying to take advice but wheres it at?? What sell it now is advice lol. Im trying to build it and you guys just discourage me.... And i dont wish for anyone to die but his name was tytillidie so i changed it :)

Yes you might be trying to build it. Just get it running right first. From what I can see you doing is getting into the truck more than you need to. You have the starter in, your getting the harness. Now stop. Get those parts installed, get the truck running, or even just moving under it's own power. Don't even think about yanking a peice of cladding off of it. Just get it running right. If you have to ask a memeber with a data master to come over, buy him supper,a case of beer, pay him cash. Just get it running right. Make sure the trans is good. Then go drive it around for a year. Enjoy it the way you bought it. THen if you still have a mile long hard on for the truck, pull it apart and start to work on it. It's my .o2 cetns like everybody elses. You sound like you have good ententions, and you like what you have. But there's been several members on the forumn who have bitten of alot more than they can chew. I will even put my name on the list. Start small and then work your way through the truck.

Look man, you can't come in here acting like a total hard ass and expect to get any respect. That is 100% common sense. Nobody knows you and your $hitting all over senior members who've been in and out of every part of these trucks. this isn't S10forums so keep the drama out of here.

For a point of reference, my truck is going through the ringer similarly to your proposed plan. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone if they're planning to sell the truck. You can do a million dollar job to it, but that doesn't mean someone will pay that much for it. The market is severely depressed for these trucks right now, and most likely will be for quite some time.

If you can sell the truck as is right now, and get between 8-12k, consider yourself very VERY lucky. Search through the classifieds you'll see that well respected owners on here couldn't move their trucks for under 8k.

Ty till i hope u die youre an idiot you just made yourself sound stupid so i dont use a period i cant build cars ........................... Dumbass. And i bet you pay someone to work on your shit

I know you can't build cars, that was my whole point. :rotf:

Just so we are clear, I have done work on my Ty by MYSELF than 80% of the people on this forum. I know my truck inside out, every single inch. I drive my truck more than many, I beat the hell out of it and it is normally not down for more than a day or two with the exception of my big build and paint job. Not like I need to hand my resume over to a bone head like you though.

Have fun failing with your imaginary truck like you failed in school and are probably failing in life.

As for your wish for my death......eh, you're not worth it.

You have zero passion for Syclones when you post a video of a Typhoon and say its a Syclone.

Re: restoration frame off?

I've been there and done that.I wish I'd had asked for and gotten the advise you were given,I'd had just bought a stock truck and enjoyed it.Now after 7 yrs.and god knows how much money and work I have an outstanding and well built sy.Could I put a price on it?No,but maybe your first born daughter.I'm on my 3rd motor in less than 4k miles, never had a problem with any of them, just figured if this is good that will be better. Now I have an aluminum block,so maybe next year I'll change it again.I also have a ty I'm rebuilding. But just to enjoy driving I went and bought a nice 70k totally stock 93.So the moral of the story is--listen to these guys, they know what they're talking about, get off your high horse and enjoy your truck. You wont get much help pissing people off.You might find that after all is said and done that you love these trucks more than the time or money.
