I just dont get what your problem is. I dont consider it a kill since we really didnt race. But this section is for stories like this. Its irritating to me when people blow hundreds of thousands of dollars just to look pretty. Cars like that were built to DRIVE. And I know this is an opinion but I can say it atleast makes sense. I dont spend all my money on my truck to make it an ass kickin machine just so I can sit there and look good. And I do get the fact that he probably feels Im no match but the point is htat I am. I too get tired of lining up with Stangs, SS's, WS6's or whatever and know I will totally rape em. Thats why IVe been forced to play with crotch rockets. Noone is a match for me around here anymore so I figure a $200,000 Lambo might gimmie something. Guess not.

don't listen to the narrow-minded guys, racing a lambo is big fun for sure, what ever the end is - these trucks are built to accelerate, and thats what they do best :lol: so why don't check IMO ?

i had a galliardo in front of my grille last time and at the red light we desided to check whos hot and whos not - got him - even it was only a galliardo and only from light to next red light ...
... but it's important to do it with style, so move ya butt and :git: *hehe*

Not if you ditch the factory boost controller. A $30 ball and spring Grainger valve works like a champ with no cat. :tup:

but w/this setup the computer is not able to control boost for savety (knock), or am i wrong :roll:

thats just plain wierd. its like when im at a stoplight with my built syclone, and a guy in a jeep, or a cavalier wants to race....... and im like "what a tard"

take a minute and think about it from his point of view....... he has a car thats not even in the same plane of existance, and some hot head in a 10 year old pickup truck wants to race. who cares if you can get him from a stop, hes riding around in a lamberghini. you showing your ass just makes it worse. cause now hes thinking..... "damn some idiot redneck in a 10 year old pickup truck wont leave me the hell alone..... wish someone in this town had some class."

It does have a bleeder valve, but it is the boost-counteracting force from spring compression on a little metal ball that actually controls the boost.

And you are correct that boost will not be pulled when knock is detected with this sucker. That is a drawback. Unfortunately, my truck is plagued with all sorts of false knock (though I got the real stuff a few times under lean conditions when the fuel pump was bad, even with the stock boost controller).

Before I did any hard driving with this boost controller, I had a datamaster hooked to it to watch for knock. I also use a wideband now as well. It's always best to start very conservative with boost level and inch it up to see what each truck can take.

I can say with certainty that a stock wastegate at stock boost levels (I've gone as high as 15psi) will work awesome (no overboost on first spool, no boost creep up top) with such a boost controller, even if the cat is removed.
