Selling Wife's TY Is Becoming Appealing

Still plays with trucks
Re: Selling Wife's TY Is Becoming Appealing

We had a TBSS for the wife when my daughter was born. Great truck, easy to drive, AWD, keep it stock and it will be way more reliable than a ty ever will be. Be easy on it and you should get 17ish for milage, and it goes down the freeway like a dream. I really miss that truck, it was easy to maintain also. Like i said, keep it stock and you will be fine.

TBSS are nice trucks. I don't think they are very quick in stock form, but do have potential with that motor, and very roomy.

Dude, F all this truck selling nonsense, where have you been hiding at?

I don't hide:lol:

Things have been insane around here. I also had some issues with this site that I thought I would just take a break for a while instead of stirring up some shit. I'm glad I did too, I don't feel the need to be on here all the time now and I also don't feel the urge to blast people with my keyboard when I see something I don't like.

For the record, I will never sell my TY. Things would have to get pretty crappy for that to happen. I think if it came down to selling my TY then the world would know, I just gave up. Hell if anything, I'm hoping to have it back on the road in September but you know how that goes. Nice fresh coat of paint, nice 4 wheel discs with Z06, 80e conversion, nice sized turbo, all just sitting there.

I don't want to sell the wife's TY because I think it is necessarily unreliable, I guess I just feel like it would be nice to not always have that thought looming in the back of our minds. You, the "are we gonna make it" though. Yep, you guys know exactly what I am talking about. I guess we don't really ever take it far anyway so it's not a huge deal to keep it. But then on the flip side, maybe if we had something else we'd be more inclined to drive it long distances. Plus, it needs to be painted. I'm probably going to just buy new doors for it. The damn sunroof is broken and I can't find anyone who can fix it, the headliner hangs down in the back. Good news is that mechanically it is in very good shape.

Selling the TY is one thing, buying a Chrysler product is inexcusable:lol: I would never, ever....

Sell Out
Re: Selling Wife's TY Is Becoming Appealing

Another thing to consider - the TBSS is a lot safer than the Ty. Much better impact protection, traction control, functional ABS...I guess those are things parents think about.

4-doors will be easier to get a child in/out.

Other great points we were considering.

In early July we took a trip out to New Jersey and as usual, we rented an SUV. It was just a nice feeling driving something newer that we knew would "make it".

I'd sell her ty and get a TBSS. You know I'm in a similar situation, and chose a TBSS over a Ty. You'll still have your Ty to be stupid fast and wrench on, and she'll have a nice DD that's quick.

Huh? I guess you didn't see this post? :D I got back Saturday, and took off Tuesday for another 500 miles. Today's task is change the oil. Over 8K on this change, now. I've put almost 20K on it since last October, and changed an O2 sensor, A/C compressor, and now a blower motor.

Seriously, newer vehicles give more assurance, but aren't necessarily better. They break too.

Good to see you posting again, Mike.

Yeah I saw it. I don't mind it for me but like I said, when something goes wrong with hers, she calls me like it's my fault. I'm just not sure it's worth it. On top of that, I have become extremely serious about my business this year. In April, May and June I was very busy studying and testing for my applicators license which I finally received in June. Got my business registered to spray pesticides now. I am finding that in order to really truly grow my business, I can't have things in my way like broke down vehicles. I have been putting 120% in to this and it's starting to pay off but it has become clear to me that this dedication can't stop anytime soon. In fact, it will become greater.

I spent the last few year wondering how the world was passing me up. It's because I fart around with these trucks all the time instead of growing a business that can run itself. That is my one and only goal right now. A Typhoon for my wife? it's a "cute" idea and all but let's be honest, it just doesn't matter. Now my truck of course matters. It's provides me sanity and fun in my off time and has really become a toy. I guess if all goes well, I could always buy another one for her when I pull my head out of my ass and really this thing going. I'm just tired of working all the time in the field and then coming home and having to work on broke down vehicles all the time. It's no way to get ahead.

All in all, I'll just say this, my time has become extremely valuable to me and I don't want to spend it working on cars anymore. Shit, I don't even get paid for it.

You have the right idea Mike. Seems like you're leaning towards selling it. I vote to sell it, (keep yours!) get something more reliable and safe. This is clearly the best choice for everyone involved.

I say x2 for a TBSS. They are good looking, safe, spacious and they can move. My mother has an '06 Trailblazer LT (I6). Even though its slow it's still a breeze to drive.

Good luck with your decision!

Dude, that's deep

Glad to see that your getting things prioritized so that your life will be more fulfilling in the long run.

Don't take such a long hiatus next time, I miss your posts.

Oh yeah, back to your question, yeah just sell her Ty.
