Shindig 2012 Location (Poll)

Okay, so it's well over a year away, but Adam and I were going to try and get a head start on the planning for the 2012 Shindig. Ever since last year, we've had requests for it to be held in Savannah or Daytona again, but to be fair, we want to offer the location in a poll. So, I'll list Savannah and Daytona as two options with a third for write-ins.

Edit: accidentally put Daytona, GA in poll.....it should read Daytona, FL. Will change and remove this edit. In the meantime, vote knowing I meant FL.

i would like for it to be back in florida....but i enjoyed Savannah. .....so im going to vote for georgia again and pray it isnt as cold as last time..lol

Not to sway any opinions, but we do have a good relationship with the Buccaneer Region AutoX group, so the AutoX would be as good as or better than last time. Working on figuring out how to make the dragstrip a little less of a hassle (thinking to do it Fri. night and AutoX Sat.).

I voted for Savannah, GA again. That was a really good time last year! Harmon is right... you could see your breath at the track. I am definitely planning on going again this time and I know Jason and Heather Granger are planning on going too from St. Louis. Will bring warmer clothes though just in case...

This was a drop from like 55 degrees to 28 degrees over 4 days. Caught the track off guard and it was like launching on ice.

As much as I would like to have it in my backyard, I vote for the same location again, Savannah.

- Hotel was accommodating to trucks/trailers
- Restaurants / Stores where right there
- AutoX course was close
- Track was a bit of a drive, but not unreasonable (plus you can buy rebel flags on the way)
- Since leaving my truck at Hoods and still yet to go pick it back up, just having the event again at the same spot makes it easier for me to get it. <-- Best reason overall.


Savannah also keeps it a bit more open and easier for the more northern parts of the SE (TN, N and S Carolina, KY, etc). Anything in FL is a haul outside of living in GA.
