Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

maybe its just me.. but although those hood pins are very awesome quality, i just think they look out of place.

Maybe when you have the cowl hood on and painted it could look better.. but right now it just doesn't seem to fit

edit: another thing, I also think it will take away from the 'clean/simple' look by having accents like that. From your renders you got the truck is very sleek and adding something like that just draws attention from it.

I thought you sold the other GT ? ... I think that is an amazing looking part. As for the hood pins... I wouldn't do it to my truck, but I think they can be done tastefully

I agree - I'm not a real big fan of hood pins. But we need a catch to draw people to the truck.

We are going to try to make them a little smaller and shorter.

There are going to be other billet accent throughout the truck with the same theme as these so it will tie it all together.

When Troy was at the house yesterday we talked about the cost of the paint job and my god yes i am worried about the paint getting scratched.

Those are sweet. Maybe powdercoated black to the blend in more. I agree with epix & jjorgenson.

Because the stance, big meats on back, and paint job aren't going to be enough :rotf:

Dude 1: "man, did you see that mean looking s-truck over there with SyborgTT on the side...."

Dude 2: "nah man, which one?"

Dude 1: "the one over there....."

Dude 2: "oooohhh, the one with the really cool hood pins. Yeah, sweet truck."

:rotf: j/k

hood pins are kinda dorky. even on a race car they are kinda dorky. just look at the name broken down into its key words "ho" "od" "pi" "ns" what do they mean, where did they come from, how do they apply to the truck. this is serious question that should be answered before any further steps are taken. for my safety as well as yours.

So far the hood pins have succeeded in creating great conversations. There are people that love, hate them and are indifferent.

so here are you choices

use the ugly stock hood latch or come up with something different. So I decided to go the hood pin route. Not to worry the style of the hood pins will be brought into the interior and other area's of the build.

Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

why are those the only choices? how about if latch shafts were on the underside of the hood and latched on either corner through the rad support?
