gonna do something.......man if it were not for this board and seeing some people make progress from time to time it would really deter me from even starting on my truck, i who wouldnt want tostart a 25 year resto, right?

Okay I know we've been a little sleepy with the updates. But not to worry were working on the trucks. Just trying to gather parts for the engine.

Guy at Rockfordracecraft has been working with Jessels on the Lifter and shaft mount rockers. Once we have those we should be pretty close to sealing up the motor.

On a side note Ron ( Wilson Muscle Cars ) and & I have been workng on the locking versions of the hood pins. We just want to have options.

Good Day All,

I know it's shocking actually it's amazing.
We have Pictures - only 3 but we actually have Pictures.
Yahooooooo!!!

This is the first Photo (using the term photo loosely here)
I think it's the side of the truck with some string running down it.

Yep I was correct -- it's the side of the truck.
The Guy's are actually working on aligning the bed width with the cab width.
This is not for the faint at heart

The side has been pulled out to match the widest part of the cab.
Next, they are going to cut the back of the cab and pull it out to match the side of the bed.
Our goal is to have a perfectly straight line down the side of the truck.

I can't wait to see it in person.
But for now I will just have to live with Pictures.

ps - not to worry new camera is on the way.

Nice idea....never thought or seen anyone do it. Will the cut change the shape/size of the rear window?

What on earth did you have to do to get the cab and bed to align? If I remember correctly, my bed sticks out farther than the cab *or vice versa* on both sides...

cut the cab cornewrs and flare them out along with the bed to match?

Wow... how much of a pain in the but was that? Wouldn't you have to cut everything then, including the tailgate?

by tho loosk they flared the bed 3/4"-1"
and then cut the cab?

okay - her is what we did and are doing.

1. Flare the bed Sides ( yep that sucked )
2. Cut the front of the bed loose with the floor and bed sides
3. Move them in to the narrowest point of the cab
4. Then cut the bed side loose from the Inner Bed Side and Moved them out to match the widest point of cab ( at the door back )
5. Now we are cutting the back of the cab and pulling it out to match the bed side width

6. Tailgate ( narrow 3/16 of an inch both sides )
7. Shave Tailgate handle
8. Shave 3/16 of an inch off the bottem of the tailgate ( why - see below )
9. Align rear bumber cladding with Corner cladding ( move up rear bumper )
10. Widen rear corner cladding to match width of bed
11. Widen rear bumber cladding to line up tailgate width
12. Extend Rocker cladding 1/2 on both sides
13. Cap front of bed ( hide the rolled steel )
14. Smooth Bed floors ( whats left of it )
15. Taillights ( still up in the air on these ) - idea's welcome
