I don't wanna swap stuff on the "promo" SGT I have but I am on the prowl for another one and I will be modifying that one. Been in contact with the guy who owns the 5,000 mile teal and I am dead serious about buying it but I need to catch him one day when he is in a reasonable frame of mind.

Was this kit developed using a stock spindle, 2" drop spindle or perhaps custom?

there were developed using a stock spindle, however we just swapped over the 2" drop spindles and everything was kosher.

I have to drop one side off at Billet Specialties on Monday.

All of this talk about GT's... I must come clean. I have too many trucks!
I have had thoughts of selling the Aspen GT but... at the same time I refuse to give it away.
Somebody out there somewhere will pay a little extra for the color.

Back on topic, I'll have to look into a set of those brakes for the SY whe they are available.

I'm still waiting for one final piece for the exhaust to complete the system.

The Throttle cable has been routed and mounted to the pedal.

I hope this is the final / final time we get to play with this really cool tool. It has been awesome to have while we are waiting for the wheels. With this tool we can turn the wheel thru it's range and see what are clearence issue's my be.

That's it for this week

11-19-05 Update

Well not much to talk about this week. I had to special order some parts so we were in a holding pattern.

Here's the new flanges for the mufflers. Just in case i want to pull the muffler off.

2005_11_19_001.jpg

And that special order part - the new exhaust tip that will exit out the side of the truck

Here's a great picture of the stock frame to the tube frame transition. Rick "Opie" Waller had a lot to do with the look of this transition. I think his idea worked well.

Well I've finally ordered my Wheels and I am shocked how Fast they turned this order into a reality. Kevin over at Billet Specialties really took care of me.

Here is the new wheel

You can see that they haven't welded the back side yet. I want to make sure they are perfect

2005_12_02_004.jpg

here is the big wheel for the back 20 x 10

You can see the massive wheel lip on the rear

Awesome looking wheels! They do remind me of Budnik's though.

12-03-05 Update

Dave mounted the air system while I was on Vacation and it looks exactly like I wanted to look.

2005_12_03_049.jpg

It's mounted on a tubular chassis so it will remain on the chassis when the cab and the bed are removed

2005_12_03_054.jpg

Here is the top view

2005_12_03_076.jpg

You can see my idea for the bed and I couldn't be happier with it.

2005_12_03_064.jpg

This is the frame work that will support the new bed floor.

2005_12_03_075.jpg

Brakes - What can i say. Precisions Brakes did and awesome job on them. This is the final front brake caliper and it is an exact match for the rear caliper something we need it we are going to show the truck.

2005_12_03_001.jpg

Rear Brakes going on.

2005_12_03_014.jpg

2005_12_03_023.jpg

2005_12_03_020.jpg

The exhaust is almost finished all we need to do is cut the end of the tailpipe.

2005_12_03_029.jpg

You can see the transition from the round to oval tailpipe. I think Dave did and incredible job joining the two pieces.

2005_12_03_030.jpg

If we need, we will now be able to remove the mufflers.

2005_12_03_032.jpg

Moving on to the front suspension. I installed the Bear Tracker Tie Rod ends and sleeve. What a nice piece.

2005_12_03_024.jpg

A quick picture of the trans pan installed and check for clearance issue's

2005_12_03_056.jpg

I saved the best for last "the Wheels". The tool that we used for mock up was perfect. It nailed the offset on the front wheels on the first try. I can't wait to do another truck.

2005_12_03_003.jpg

Here is what the truck is going to look like when the air suspension is deflated.

2005_12_03_004.jpg

There is a minor vlave stem clearence issue which can easily be resolved with a set of low profile valve stems from Weld Wheels.

2005_12_03_010.jpg

No clearence issues on the rear wheel.

2005_12_03_021.jpg

we decided to go with the sticky outy look on the wheels.

2005_12_03_022.jpg

No really once the tires are mounted we will narrow the rear diff.

That's it for this week. I've got a bunch of parts to order and I need to get the wheels back to Billet Specialties so they can weld them up for me.
