does that mean you'll keep the lower "tray" under the stock dash?

Waiting to see what the interior guy thinks i am going to try to make it as close to stock looking as possible. My goal is to have the tray

is there gonna be an ashtray?

Nope but there will be a billet cup holder that will slide out of the dash

I wanted to do something like that to my Typhoon, but I wanted it to be a bit larger and sturdier to double as a Laptop mount/tray. That way, when you're done with the laptop, you just slide the tray back in and there's no ugly laptop mount in your truck.

Love seeing the progress! Hope to see it at Nats in whatever state of finish it's in.

Never thought about bringing it to the nats incomplete - but it's possible. I have to verify the date because i am going to school in Sept to learn how to form metal.

The dash is fairly strong almost to strong it's made from 18 Guage Steel. We plan to run a couple horizontal bars behind the dash to mount the steering column, wire harness and all the other little stuff. Still trying to get a Stereo shop to sponsor the truck so they can do the sound system. Let them decide where they want everything.

Local school or are you going to one of the classes held across the country by Ron Covel or someone similar? I REALLY want to attend a panel beaters ;) course but finding the time can be tough.

Ron comes to TN usually once or twice a year and TN is just a little closer than MI for me. Unless of course youre inviting me to MI so I can attend the class as well as take the TT truck for a spin around the block ;) .

if the truck was done i would let you drive it. However most likely it will be in the body shop by then.

It's Saturday and it's time to get some work done on the truck

Scott over at www.syclone-typhoon.com hooked me up with the prototype of the gt Cladding.
The Fit was great with only a little bit of trimming on the Mounting Elbow.

I brought the Factory Dash Surround it to see how it looks on the Steel Dash.

This gives you an idea of how much free space we gained behind the dash.

Motor is back to Center

Fit the intercooler back in and decided to open up some space around it.
Dave will make a new horizontal brace for the core support

Well that really cool Bezel that Tom over at www.hydroillusions.com did for me is going to end up in the project 663 along with some other really cool stuff. I've got a couple things up my sleeve on this one. I've got a realy cool cad drawing of the dash bezel. So far it's going to hold 8 different quages. Should look really cool when it's done.

Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

as long as the gauges are readable from the passenger seat it'll be cool. I hate how the stock bezel looks like crap from an angle
