Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

Good Morning All,

Spent the day over at Rockford Racecraft sorting out ll of the misc stuff on the motor.

Trying to find a gasket for the motor has been fun to say the least.
Guy & Mike are working together to get the correct intake gaskets.

Cloyes Timing Cover - I just love this piece.

The last shot of the Jesels before they are hidden forever.

More misc Parts - Thanks Mike.

We put the motor all together so we could get a complete list of all of the ARP bolts
that we needed to order for the motor.
Not to worry it's just another call to Totally Stainless.

It's looking great, Marty! Can't wait to see it someday......
What happened on the intake gaskets... any solution?

Wow, I just read this thread from the beginning! 1124 posts. ( My eyes hurt and my wife is mad at me for not putting the kids to bed).

I can't believe the craftsmanship, attention to detail and high quality parts that are going into this truck.

I am glad that I read it from the beginning, the same members make their brief entrance into the thread, make their obligatory comment and wait for the next weeks update. " Truck looks awesome!". Can I drive it? or" Do you need another child? These seem to be the most common.

The regular quip about heated bumpers ( to keep your hands warm while pushing it onto the trailer) or the fact that the radar detector belongs in the tow vehicle, are perfect.

I wanted to congratulate you on the most impressive build story that I have seen to date.

I can't wait to see the finished project.

Gord.

Yep, Mike & Guy got it all figured out and were good to go.
Should be this weeks update.

PS things in progress at Rockford Racecraft
1. Turbo's disassembled
2. Housing welded up to remove pits in casting
3. Housing polished
4. Exhaust housing smoothed
5. Exhaust housing hi-temp coated
6. Center Section disassembled
7. Center Section hi-temp coated
8. Intake manifold hat extended
9. Motor Final Assembly with all new ARP Bolts from Totally Stainless

I know there is more but i just can't remember right now

Good Afternoon All,

Just as the title says "We've got Wood"!

Kenny sent the Grille & Front Cover off to get digitally Scanned.
What we ended up with are dimensionally correct "Wood Bucks" of all the opening.

All the parts laid out on the floor.
If you look at the grille piece you can see it has a concave shape

My Favorite - The Front Cover opening.
Notice how the buck follows the curve of the Front cover.

This pictures shows the curve of the Wood a little better.
All of the parts were cut on a 4 Axis CNC machine.

Some Pretty cool work these guy's are doing.
I'm really getting excited to see this thing in color.

boost = happy
Re: Sonoma GT 0334 - Build Pics

it takes the concave or convex shape of the front end so a billet grill can be made so the aluminum can beformed over or to the shape of the buck.

Actully the wood will be the Hammer Form that Kenny forms the Grille Mesh over.

Wait till you see the grille mesh. It's a special Maxwell House version.

I am almost ashamed to tell this to everyone, but since Marty has gone way over on his inital budget, he has been forced make his kids work, to pay for the truck. They have started a sheetrock and painting company and thank god dad didn't teach them everything he knows.
