Day 5:
Well, it was in the schedule to do the remaining cab maneuvers, but I grossly underestimated how long it would take to make the frame look nice. My friend and I sanded, and sanded, and sanded, and sanded, etc. Three hours later, we masked off everything and shot it with primer. While I was waiting for the primer to dry, I took advantage of the lack of firewall to install a new oil pressure sender. After the primer dried we hit it up with some paint. Leaving the truck to dry overnight, I rescheduled the cab-swapping festivities to tomorrow after lunch.
As far as what I'm going to do with what will now become the black shell, I'm going to try to sell it. I don't know what would be better, selling it as a roller or parting out the cladding, wheels, etc. If anyone is interested in buying the roller, let me know.

Day 6:
Rented the lift again after lunch to do the final moving. Took off the blue cab and carefully placed it on the black frame, then put the black cab back on the other frame. Put both beds on the trucks and bolted them down.
I then started getting everything transferred so I can drive the blue one. I swapped the heater/vent unit, which is a MAJOR PITA! I had to unbolt the steering column, undo the brake booster from the inside, and jimmy the thing out. By far my least-favorite part of the day. I then took all the wiring out in the biggest chunk possible, threw it in, and reconnected everything.
Tomorrow I'll hook up a battery and the ECU and see if the thing starts...

No pics today, as nothing drastically changed appearance-wise...
I ran all the necessary wires and vacuum hoses, hooked up the battery, and drove it home today!
Some small issues:
The trottle cable/linkage is a bit sticky. I had to really pay attention on the drive home so I didn't rear-end anybody. The shift cable also needs some adjustment (expected), as I had to park it, chock the wheels, hop underneath, and manually push the gear selector into park at the transmission...
The next day for an update is going to be Tuesday. I'll be buttoning up all the cosmetic stuff (door handles, door panels, windows, dash, new moulding and seals, etc.), and giving the truck a much-needed bath.

I did swap the entire dash over to the blue cab. I worked on it for the last two days, but I didn't take any photos yet because I really didn't completely reach any landmark achievements as of yet.
I put in the dash and gages, put on all the cladding, installed all new rubber seals, bompers, and mouldings, and put in the new molded carpet. There's still a few wires here and there that I need to tidy up before I would consider it photo-worthy. I've bought a bunch of other stuff that I'm waiting on as well. All new lights, new gear selector cable, etc.. I'm also replacing every bolt that exists on the truck with stainless steel socket-head cap screws, but before I can do that I need to take it into the paint shop for a "buff coat" (whatever that is), body shimming and alignment. I don't want them getting any bright ideas and stealing all my expensive fasteners.
I don't work until noon tomorrow, so I'll run out in the morning and get a couple shots of what it looks like and put them up. It's getting very hard to walk by the truck now without fondeling it.
