Sy body swap has commenced!

Re: Sy body swap has commenced!

Well...everything kind-of came to a halt the past couple weeks with the truck. I found a piece of property near me with a huge shop/house building on it. I decided to buy it and turn it into a car-nut's dream house. The main reason I was contemplating selling the roller was because I had nowhere to put it, but now I've got PLENTY of room. :D

So this now becomes my project: To see how nice I can make this property on a $75k budget.

wtf man..........you gonna let me do my 6.0L swap there then ;)

Nice find!

Good news on my end. I now am starting a 2nd job with Go Daddy. Pretty good benefits and pay potential is crazy. I should be out of debt in about 4 months or sooner so the V8 is going to happen sooner than expected. :)

So your gonna go with a 6 liter swap eh? Gonna do the LS2 or an iron LSx block? Were you still going to turbo it? I can never remember these things..lol

I`m going to let Brandon do a body swap. Put his sy body on a new Vette. No messy adapters and special stuff!

I think to start, I'm going with the 6.0L truck motor. Then once it's all in, getting an aluminum shortblock and intake later.

Although being that I have a second job now, I might just go with an LS2 crate motor from the factory.

And yes, going turbo. I wouldn't have anything less. Just debating whether to go with my T76 or twins at this point.

Hey, if you let me use your facility, how about I pitch in for some of the lift cost as a return? Let me know when you decide to buy it.

Not much to update. After almost a year fighting with the city code people, I couldn't convert the shop into a "house" because it was too close to the edge of the lot. I was going to have to build a house in front of it, and that was going to cost a lot more than I wanted. Someone else purchased the property and demolished it, and the empty lot has been for sale ever since. Luckily I played my cards right contract-wise and got out of it relatively unharmed. The poor sap that bought it did so right on the edge of the downturn, so he's upside down on it already.

I'm still looking for another project like this one, and I'll find one eventually. Just waiting patiently for the market to show signs of bottoming out, then I'll bite.

Until then, I've got lots of extra mortgage money that I can throw at the Sy... :D
