Re: Syclone #136

Re: Syclone #136

its kinda tricky, cause the fuel lines are bolted to the top of the tranny case. but to get your hands up there, you need to drop the tranny down alittle. but you cant, cause the tailshaft on the transfer case hits the crossmember. so i slide the whole assembly forward till it hit the front diff.(leaving me an inch of clearance between the tailshaft and the crossmember) then i lowered everything down enough to unbolt the fuel lines, the i was able to put it on the cart, raise the front of the truck way up, and slide it out the front.

Re: Syclone #136

today, i'll be bending brake lines so i can get rid of the ABS unit.

by next weekend i should have the bottom end of the engine assembled.

i ordered a new A/C evaporator, so i'll cleanup the heater box, and put it back on.

painted most of my heat shields, and started to shine up the firewall/tranny tunnel.

lol, its a 07 left over, i bought it at Christmas. I didnt want black or silver.

although the blue gets as dirty as a black one would. but blue's kind of a rare color.

Re: Syclone #136

started workin on it again.

Mocked up the short block a couple times, for bearing clearance, and noticed that i need to relieve block to clear the rod bolts. Also, the rod bolts need shortened, because they come alittle too close to the cam tunnel.

( the crank spins like butta, like butta )

Since the last update, i changed my mods again.

Instead of a PT63, i bought a GTQ72.

Instead of the 415 cam, i got a 218 custom grind from TurboTime

And i took back the M55 pump, and got a beefier M55HV.

Still waiting on my heads. And deciding whether to leave the Walbro 255 in the truck, or to sump the tank, and run an Aeromotive A1000.
