looks like it's in pretty decent shape from the one pic. Since the owner seems to know the rarity of these trucks, it is very possible it has 25,000 original miles.
As far as importing SyTys into Canada, importing a Sy is easier than a Ty, there a number of things you'll need to do to get across the border including having the title in your name at the border for 3 full days before you can actually bring the truck out of the US. Then there are import fees and taxes and inspections... If you can find one already in Canada, it will be easier for you. Although with the Canadian dollar being so close to the US dollar right now, there are deals to be had done across the line.
Thanks for the reply Ozrein. Much appreciated. I should go check it out because it is only 3.5 hours form Ottawa. Although I want a Sy, a clean Ty would be just fine.
As for importing, any idea why it is harder to bring a Ty in?
How did you come about getting your machine? Was it already in Canada? The ones that are here, seem to be mostly in alberta/bc .
I just found the government site with a bunch of info, www/.riv.ca Registrar of Imported Vehicles. The really bad news, is that according to that site, you can only import a vehicle that is less than 15 years old... that means were pretty much screwed on getting any more of these incredible rides brought in to the beatiful country.
from the riv. ca site " The Registrar of Imported Vehicles program regulates only vehicles originally manufactured for the U.S. market. The program regulates passenger cars, trucks, vans, jeeps, chassis cabs, trailers, motorcycles and snowmobiles less than 15 years old"
