Re: Towing Info

The guards carry wheel guns, wow. You'd expect 40 S&W's and Glocks like everyone in law enforcement.

I had no idea that Memphis was like that until I read the article. It's nice to know, in case I ever had the urge to spend the night.

and KC BBQ=BETTER. Gates rules('Hi, may I help you!')

Back on topic:

Can a 1998 Ford 150 with a V6 (assume 4.2?) tow a Typhoon w/trailer? I don't much more about the truck but I found one with low mileage pretty cheap. (I know, it's a Ford...but it's green/grey and think that would look badass pulling my Ty!)

Re: Towing Info

Yes it can, fast no it can't.

Should do ok. You are probably just as cheap to buy something, use it then sell when you return if needed.

Old chevy trucks/tahoes can be had fairly cheap also and would do just fine also.

Re: Towing Info

Thanks. Yep, I'm looking to buy this one. I was going to barter on the price a little, but it's a woman selling her recently deceased husband's truck. :squint: Ugg.

Re: Towing Info

If your buying for just a tow rig for ty I would keep looking. If you looking to make just this 1 trip, and price reflects a deal you can walk back out of cheap it will work.

Dig, you can bring yours over too. I may have to shuffle a car or two around but I can squeeze it in a garage too. I have 1800+ sq ft of garage space so it should be no problem. Im not totally sure if I can fit another one inside after Dig but I have plenty of parking space outside if anybody else needs a SyTy babysitter. Like Jeff said, my neighborhood is very safe.

Over 1800 square feet of garage space!? WOW! That's awesome! My dad has a 30 X 32 sq.-foot garage that was built by a friend...it's about a 2.5 car garage, but it has an 8-foot door & 12-foot ceiling. That would be the sweetest thing to see... 3 or 4 "SIIICCCCKKKK" Ty's along with a mint Sy, all in the same spot! haha.... You should post a pic for us, if you end up being the "Ty/Sy babysitter" bro.

You have a Aspen Blue Ty, too!! Awww man... I need to search for some sweet pics on here. :)

Re: Towing Info

they will tow it fine but they dont have a hitch on the trucks but a ty will fit into a 16 foot u haul truck fine and you can lock it

I'm planning on attending as well this year but whats making it not a definete is how the hell will i get my truck there. I will find out wednesday if the buyer takes my subaru and if so i was planning on getting a used truck. Maybe i can get something bigger then what i want and just use it for a year or so. Do places rent car trailers??? I have seen the ones that just hook up the front wheels. Owned a few trailers in the past but never car trailers.

My friend bought a salvage car in P.A a few years back and he rented a uhaul truck and got it back home. What he had to do is get the salvage yard to put the salvage vehicle on a flat bed and they rolled it into the uhaul. They didnt tie it down but he did notice when he got home the rear section was rubbing on the insaide of the trailer. Of course he didnt care because that was the section it was damaged at. When he got back home he called another flat bed and did the reverse to take it off.

Re: Towing Info

Yes you can rent trailers, U-haul for one, sometimes local rental places have them also. Might even see if any local car guys have one they would rent/let you borrow.

If I didn't have a tow rig one option I would look at is an older tahoe. Mine now has 175k miles, is a 95. honestly is not worth much as I see them newer sell for 3k range all day long yet towes an open trailer fairly well. I wouldn't hesistate to drive it anywhere anytime even still.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___Chevy-Tahoe_W0QQitemZ180335842466QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item180335842466&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A317%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Other options include the truck version, or even the older pre 95 trucks. All cheap enough to have around and the value of them won't go that much lower if any.

Find a good deal use it and sell it when you return, or just keep it around as a spare ride that is cheap to insure.

Cool. I'm not 100% sure if we're going to do our running-around before Nats or after, but I hope to have that sorted out soon.

Thanks!
