Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Have a couple pics to update. As most have seen on FB, the Ty is now on the Road thanks to Sound Performance to Fabbing up my Intercooler piping. The Ty runs great and seems to Pull like a Monster.

Had a issue with my Meth kit, so I sent out the Meth Pump today to get Rebuilt by Julio (Alkycontrol) which hasn't been rebuilt in the 3.5 years I've been running it. I also replaced the Rubber bushings on my Coilovers to Heim joints.

Will have some videos up soon and more updates to come. I have a few things planned for the Ty this year such as, New Tires maybe Drag Radials, getting my Spare Doors and Tailgate painted. And it all goes well, Track time.

The Rubber bushings were completely torn and the Metal sleeve was grinding on the shock. Luckily I was able to save the slots with a Dremel for the C-Clips for the Heims.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Time to update this Thread. Had a great year with the Ty. Couple months after I ran 10.71 had a mishap with my #1 Intake valve hitting the Piston. Wasn't sure of the exact cause but according to the Head builder, most likely due to excess heat in that cylinder causing the valve guide to swell and Valve got stuck. Got this taken care of and then I then noticed that I was having a growling noise in the Front end. Replaced my Pass side wheel bearing and didn't fix it. I then pulled the Propshaft and noise went away.

First project is getting the Front diff Rebuilt. I have some other things I plan on doin as well.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Busy winter on the Beast. My friend and I Rebuilt the Front Diff on our spare time with all new Bearings/Seals. The Gears checked out fine. Did all the proper measurements to get it back to spec. Just reinstalled it back in the truck over the weekend, so that project is done.

My other Project is converting to a Oil catch can to get rid of the Filter breather I had on the Drivers valve cover that leaked oil all the time. Found a well built premade kit and the Satin black Matches great.

Have also been removing and hiding all the unused wires/Relays off the Firewall to clean it up a bit. At the same time, did a Battery Relocation to the back with a Red Top Optima. Starts up super quick compared to my old little Odyssey battery.

Got a nice surprise for Xmas with RenzFab Aluminum Hood hinges that my Dad secretly Polished for me and Completes the Engine bay. Next Project is replacing the entire Fuel system with all new Lines/AN Fittings, Billet Rails, Fuel Lab Regulator, 80lb Injectors, Walbro 450 pump being that my stock Fuel lines are a bit rusty and goin to run E85 this year instead of Meth injection. Also going to install a new gas tank.

Here's a Video of the Current setup, also got the idea from Brandon (Aeroking) and put the Coil in the Blower motor box. I also moved the MAP sensor onto the Wiper motor to get rid of the Ugly MAP/Coil bracket.

Will have more pics of the Engine bay once I clean up the wiring more and Finish the Fuel system. Will also have pics of the Fuel system kit in a couple weeks.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Removed all the Old/rusty Fuel lines, Rear air leveling harness. While the Tank is out to swap in a new one, decided to clean up the Frame. Picked up my Fuel system kit from a Local race shop that makes these kits for SyTys. Will be installing it once I get my Clamps to mount on the frame and see how she runs with E85, then the Tuning begins.
