Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Was able to take the Ty on the road finally last weekend, and a couple times this week down the block and back to make sure all is good to call it road worthy. It's truely amazing how this Holley system is, with regards to learning everything so fast and how well it runs.
I messed with idle half the year last season, compared to Holley doin it flawlessly in a matter of minutes. It Spools up super quick which I give credit to the added Compression.
After this whole build and having it run so well with no leaks is a big relieve. Fingers crossed.

I'm currently in the process of Installing the JSM 4 Link. Yesterday I removed the stock Crossmember thats riveted in for the new Top bar Xmember. Sunday I'll be spending time cleaning the Frame and Diff for Paint. After this I can drive it to break in the Engine.

Hi Sean all i can say is NICE NICE also would like to hear how the TY will handle with the 4 link set up ..

Got the 4 Link installed. I'm happy with the Kit and sure looks a lot better without the big leaf springs in the way. Not knocking the Stock Suspension at all bein that I ran a 1.52 60' with Traction bars and AFCO Adjustable shocks. Just time to update the Suspension to match the Power. Can't wait to test it out and dial it in.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Installed the Rear Sway bar and Tested out the 4 Link. Night and Day difference in ride quality. No exaggeration here! Feels a lot more Solid when goin over bumps. Not bouncy at all and can take turns well.

Big Thanks to Scott Klepinger for comin by today to Dial in the Tune and show me the ropes with Holley. We did a couple pulls and it's quite the monster at only 15psi 18*. Very satisfied with the Holley Dominator, comin from Code59 which taught me Tuning and 10.71 pass to Holley which learned super quick and can cruise without worries is great!

Thanks Steve for the Inspection haha. The Driver side bracket took a lot of time to remove, I had to cut it and basically drill the bushing out. I'll work on the Pass side...eventually.

Have a couple things I need to get done, but I can drive it now and want to put some more miles on it before I take it to the Track to make sure its all good.

Sean,
Curious, can you take a picture of the sway bar fitment? Mine sat the same way (not 4 link) not directly under it, just a little forward, and I want to check yours out to make sure.
Thanks!

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Before the 4 link, the bar was under the diff cover. Now when I reinstalled it was a bit forward. The 90* brackets on the frame are straight and the links and straight up and down so didn't inspect further. Rides great so...

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Been putting miles on the Ty since the last update. Took my Engine Builder for a ride today and he couldn't stop smiling! Drives great and glad I can enjoy it. 98% ready for the Track. I hooked up the Holley Integrated 2step/Timing Retard yesterday and it builds boost quicker. Here's a preview of the Nastiness!!

Sean great job with the truck! Looks awsome and i bet it drives better than new! With all these upgrades have you done anything with you rear axle and front diff? Upgraded axles or different gears?

Haha thanks Joe!

The Front Diff was rebuilt couple years ago along with the Tcase because the Viscous Coupler locked up and was breakin CV axles and took out the bearings on the Front Diff. Rear Diff is still stock with just the Main Cap support Cover on it.

Re: Typhoon #1215 Mods

Finally bought Race seats that I've been wanting for a while. They are off Ebay and really good quality for the price. Actually very impressed with the quality of the stitching and fabric. Well, of course nothing is ever a Bolt On in these trucks so my Dad and I made some Adaptor Brackets so I could still use the Factory Brackets/Sliders. Cool part is the Drivers seat is still power if need be for adjustment. All in all, I'm happy with the fitment and they feel great and hold me in.

Thanks, they are DPT motorsports. Weigh 5lbs lighter than stock, so about 35lbs.
