I Love My Ty's
Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Been working on the truck a few hours a day for the last 3 days. Since I have not had to go in to work.

Didn't get anything completed. I'm slow. But persistent!

I started it. That's it. Will set timing, check for leaks, top-off the water, etc, etc. tomorrow. But it runs and sounds good.

Picked my Syclone up today from the transmission shop with a fully built trans with all the goods and a fully rebuilt transfer case. Runs awesome now

Finally had decent (i.e., warm) weather, to put the red decals I got from tydye back in November on my Ty. I gotta say the red was a good choice against the black...the wife even said the red looked good on it. Wash and wax will be tomorrow...been awhile since she got bathed.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

My truck has been an absolute handful on the highway but since everything except the steering box has been recently replaced I thought I might try to get some slack out of the box. Well I get the truck off the ground and thought I would double check and the right wheel had a ton of play in it and the steering link was moving up and down. So I get underneath the truck and the idler arm was wiggling around and the bolts were just kinda in there haha. So I tightened them up and now the truck has no play in it. God I love free repairs

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Got a phone call today with something about the disassembly of trans #4 which died a horrific death at shindig with less than 500 miles on it and now the start of trans #5.

truck is still 260 miles away from me.

fun.

Replaced the transmission mount...wasn't the horror show I was expecting it to be. Didn't make sense to me that they didn't make the bolts on the passenger side through the frame with fixed or welded nuts. That was a PITA along with lining them back up when it went back together...

DAMN!!!
Darriel finished installing trans # 2:tup: which died :rant:2 days after install with about 350 miles. This is why I could not make it to Shindig:(
Today I (meaning Gary:oops:) drained and filled the transfer case.
My problem child will finally be running right for the FAST Wrench Fest

Finished sanding and prepping cladding for the pro street truck, ran over the front fender arch with the back tire of my son's 4 wheeler, repaired that piece and started sanding again.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

well lets see today i actually drove it since shindig.....

Took it to a friends garage and swapped out the busted heater core. It took me about 2 hrs to do it. I didn't get in a hurry and just took it slow so i didn't get pissed and break something.

up next is a art carr deep trans pan and a alum driveshaft...............

Put the Ty up on jackstands and took the wheels off. Heading to Atlanta on Saturday to drop the wheels off to have them cleaned up, curb rash fixed, and have them powdercoated black.

Got the powder coat done on my wife's intake last week, and installed it all this weekend.
