Last year the ty was breaking up around 18psi. I changed the plugs and installed a msd 6al. The car did the same thing but not all the time. The next piece i installed was the msd coil and again the same result. Next i tried the msd distributor, conrad cap and rotor and new atr wires. I set the timing to 0 with the plug disconnected and took it for a spin. Instantly i felt a power difference. I drove it like this for 1 mile or so and slowly brought it into boost. As soon as it hit 16psi soemthing blew or broke and it sounded like marbles in the motor along with tons of blue smoke pouring out from the engine bay area. I tried to locate where the smoke was coming from today. It looked like it was from behind the heads but i didn't want to keep it going although the marble sound was not present. When this happend the supra was also down. The supra consumed all of my time until recently when she was finally finished. So i just did a compression test.
cylinder
1 = 5psi
3 = 120psi
5 = 5psi
2 = 150psi
4 = 150psi
6 = 150psi
When 1 and 5 are tested you don't hear any strain on the motor as if compression was being made. It almost sounds like the rod isn't connected. All of the plugs look good too wich i thought was weird. I have a new fully built motor almost ready to drop in soon but just thought i would give a look at the old one anyway. Just a side note before the supra motor blew it broke up at high boost as well. This seems to have reacted the same way. Any idea's? Is it totally blown or?????
