When I get to my truck I have the corvette key and and believe there is a pert number on the actual Item(if helps). I will have to check its slightly worn off. I Do recall CORVETTE across it and a number. I had a simmilar case where I got my truck (out of state) get back home.. some observations... and was like F*** now what... Realise I was not provided key I called up the prior owner and hes like Oh yea that... Its in my tool box I will mail it out.. and sure enough he did (thanks Kris)

How would a flat head get it out, just like hammer the flat head counter clockwise until it spins out?

BTW: NO, just fit the flathead to a side of the headbolt and twist it like you normally will a screwdriver and the bolt wilt turn, no hammering needed (no need to damage the bolt)...............well unless its really really tight in there:tup:

Buy the key from McGuard if its not an emergency. The screw driver/drilling with a reverse bit is more likely to scratch or ruin the rim i it slips. It will ruin the lock anyways. The key from a 88/89 corvette but mcguard will know what you are talking about I say Syclone/typhoon.

The screwdriver like Sammy illustrated works.

That's all I had for my red/gry for 7-8 years. I finally bought socket-head cap-screws, because one of them would never stay tight, and I didn't want to loose a center cap if the bolt came completely out.

I did what DaveP did. Size for the cap head screws is on the board here somewhere.

Drilling these is no fun. They're a fairly hard steel and burn out cheap drill bits quickly. Took me 2 hours to get 3 of them off. Replaced with stainless cap screws (and anti-seize)

PRICEY as well all know,

Best bet is try dealership first. (probably special order) C4 vett. Than your up against a wait time. I dont know if you need wheels off right away but yea check around. Look into 88-89 vett parts.

follow the link above. My garage was robbed almost 2 years ago and they took my wheel key among many other things. I contacted McGard and told them what had happened. They asked for some information such as my drivers licence number, vin number and registration of my Ty. I took a pic of the wheel locks and they charged me 14.50 for the key, plus shipping. They were great to work with!:tup:

Just call and talk to someone, I'm sure it will be an easy fix. It was for me.

take it to a Discount Tire dealer . they have most of the lock key's on hand

Most Chevy dealers or good Corvette shops will have master sets on hand.
