phoonTy
Truckless. For now.
My wife and I are currently looking to get another car. We were carpooling to save cash while I fixed what I could on the Typhoon. I had intended to make the Typhoon more of a weekend cruiser and relieve it from it's DD duties... but I miss driving it!
So, I'm thinking, why not take that $5,000 we would spend on another car and dump it into the Typhoon...
We are currently borrowing one of my dad's trucks, so the Typhoon doesn't have to be perfect, or back on the road yet...
I'm not looking to have a street racer/performance monster. I'm looking for reliability/driveability stuff. That being said, what would you do to a basically stock Ty with $5,000 to throw at it to make it a better DD?
I've done soft IC lines, have an AFPR waiting to go on, Johnson IC pump (hotwired), Lowered 1", Jeep Steering shaft waiting to go in. Poly control arm bushings waiting to go in. I'm going A/C delete too. I got used to no A/C while my fan didn't work, so that doesn't bother me.
I'm Considering:
- New Trans - probably stocker (I think mine is on it's way out - will know when it's back on the road)
- Walbro255 - haven't done it yet, want too!
- New shocks all the way around - KYB's?
- Refinish stock wheels
- Paint cladding? what would be the price of a good paint job on cladding?
- coil overs - worth the trouble?
- ABS delete? (gotten used to it with our Volvo and it's not working abs module. )
This isn't set in stone, but if I can make it even more reliable than it has been, I'd go back to daily driving it instead of getting another car/another insurance payment, etc.
Time to get my baby healthy and back on the road!
Thanks for the suggestions!
