That is a very nice truck. Nice stance, nice look, very nicely fabricated. Should be a cool rig when she gets on the road (it is going to be in the road right?).

definately gotta say it is one bad ass looking ride. The whole syty arguement is kinda rediculous b/c if it werent for people like Jason, Mike C, Tom F, Marty, myself, and handfulls of other people pushing the envelope building chassis to handle our monster motors, then we'd all be stuck watching 10 sec trucks with vortec heads. If someone wants to spend $50k to run 10s and be as close to an original syty as possible I cant help but encourage you. If you want to spend $50k and run 8's I cant knock you for making it 2wd and backhalfed either. When you are the one writing the checks you gotta make decisions based on practicality, not what other people think.

My hat goes off to Jason for building a truck that I hope performs as well as it looks. You gotta think that 1200+ hp in that chassis should be deep in the 7s. I could only imagine what the NATS would be like if everyone actually showed up.. I mean it seems every week there is a new record setting syty sufacing somewhere. Puts a smile on my face

Man that thing is sick  I 'd like to see some motor pics. Is it going to be a single or twin turbo? I hope MT sportsmans are for pushing it around, that thing deserves a slick.

Holey crap that's a gorgeous Sy... It's such a gratifying (sp) experience seeing a great idea come to reality, I'm sure...

I must, however, ask this question... Is this a trailor queen, or are we going to see some street action with this thing? I know it looks pretty 'track only', but I've seen Buick buddies roll into the Cracker Barrel in 8-second cars (chutes and wheelie bars included) for dinner... I guess the novelty of driving a 1000+ HP vehicle on public roads does it for me... 8)

Screw what the elite-ist snobs say Marty.. That truck rocks.

It's probably because of idiots like the previously mentioned 'snobs' that the real BIG PLAYERS like this dont come to SYTY.net (Fortunately we still have some people that can think outside the box).

Some people here are closed-minded about what a "SyTy" is I personally like to see someone trying something new. That thing is going to fly !

And Mike Lee (ghettosled) your input hits the nail on the head. Basically its your truck with your goals and your wallet (probably most importantly :( )

Keep up the pics Marty, btw whats happening on your Sonoma GT ? That thing has a pretty nasty build too.. I havent seen or heard much of it as of late.

marty,

can I please get a zip of that directory with all of those images.

that truck is freakin gorgeous.

well that's kinda hard because there are over 700pics

mj

go into the directory, select all (from edit menu) and then send to Zip..

if you have winzip installed, its easy to do..

that is if you have all the pics on your home computer..

Well with that said I guess John Force drives a REAL mustang. Right?

Yep those tires are his street tires. He has a seperate set of slicks and matching wheels

btw - yep it's a mustang funny car from what i can see.

zip file - it's over 600meg little to big for an e-mail

what's going on with the gt - alot just no time to post an update. I will try to get some pics up this week. The body and the chassis are finally back together and i hope to get it back over to the chassis shop for the roll bar and vintage air mount. then it will be back home for some more assembly.

Not one you can buy at the show room, but a Mustang no less. What does it say next to his name when he's staging?? Ford Mustang. Just like a highly modified SyTy can't (or couldn't as the case may be) be bought on a showroom. That doesn't make it any less of a SyTy.

So, here's the question I pose for the haters... if this truck isn't a GMC Syclone... what make/model is it?

Show me the VIN and I'll tell you. Oh, wait, it doesn't have one, so NO it's not a real Mustang.

NOTE: The following comment is directed at no one in particualr, but rather a group of people.

Not quite sure who gave the crackerjack crowd the authority to tell people what is and isn't a real sy. In my opinion, if it's got a Sy or Ty VIN on the truck, then that's what it is regardless of powertrain. I guess we all drive:

4x4 sonoma or blazer
turbo 6 cylinder
different interior
cladding

What's stopping your insurance company from telling you your truck is nothing special when you go to get a policy? The VIN. So get over it, it's a Syclone plain and simple. Just because you don't like what he's done to it doesn't mean it's wrong. If you don't like it, go out and buy as many trucks as you can to save them from those with a different point of view, and different goals than yourself.

I'm guessing you're the same people that would rather have all of us drive bone stock trucks, because the first time someone does something different with their hard earned cash to their, you're the first ones to piss and moan about it not being a Syclone/Typhoon because of this or that.

By that definition, nobody should be calling the pre-production truck a syclone either if it had a GN motor in it. Oh, and any time you do a motor swap, it's no longer the original type of car either, like if you put a 502 crate motor in an original 6 cylinder Camaro, it's not a Camaro any more right?

If it looks like a Syclone..............

Good enough for me as long as sombody is not trying to sell me A Syclone thats really a S-10.

Can't we all get a long?

The guys truck is really nice. What does it matter what the vin plate says?

>>>we'd all be stuck watching 10 sec trucks with vortec heads<<<

who says you cant get into the 9's with vortec heads, and a stock block (not bowtie) small 4.3liter (i.e. small inches meaning not stroked) and a lil xtra weight to boot! ? :D

lets see what happens in the next few weeks here.....
