AEM tru boost controller.

Hey guys,
I am installing an AEM TRU boost controller for my Sy & was wondering if anyone here has one on there ride.
Any feedback on this type of controller?

The stock wastegate controler works OK,but when I get it tuned I want to make it more easily adjustable.

Here are some videos on how it works.

Hope it will help my spool up time, meaning less time to get into boost.
Thanks:tup:

I've got one on my truck. EASY to set up/install, and the truck seems to build boost faster.

Cool,
Do you have an internal or external wastegate?

I have a minigate on the crossover. The solenoid is mounted low on the core support next to the radiator. I wanted to mount it directly on the wastegate but didn't have the clearance.

Is your engine stock,stock wastegate?
What are you getting for boost pressure now since you have not set it to control your boost pressure.?

Re: AEM tru boost controller.

So far,I have only played around w/it a bit & it seems to work pretty good.

Have a question though.
My wastegate base spring pressure is 15 psi,my understanding of adjusting the Tru boost setting Spr,is that I should start w/a dial in psi of 3 psi below my base boost pressure? Which would be 12.

I adjusted it to 14 PSi so far,but could I go over 15 or will it go into surge?

Another question is the a & b settings, are those just to set high & low boost?
If it is & I adjust my (a )mode setting to 65% for high boost,,how do I leave it in (a) mode?
Or am I thinking incorrectly?

Thanks

I usually leave mine on A @25PSi for get the duty cycle? Mine automatically stays in A mode.. I havent messed with it since I set it.I hope this helps.. One thing I did notice is the wastegate crack preasure will cause a surge when your pegged at your target PSI. I noticed this while stretching it out on the hywy... 120+

Are you saying your crack pressure is what PSI & what is your target psi 25?

So, my target psi is say 25,what can I set the Spr setting to 22,23,24?
Thanks

I run the aem and love it. It took awhile to get use to the duty cycle numbers but very easy to use once you get the hang of it.

One thing i like and i dont know if any of you have used it yet is the scatter boost switch you can hook up. If i remember right the a and b settings are for scatter. Basically you set your running base boost for street use, then you set your highest boost on b for track use. When you are on the track and you hit your lowest setting you hit the button and it takes you to your high boost setting. Its kind of a cool feeling to be pegged out at 15 psi going down the track then hit the button and go to 25 psi. Almost like hitting the nitrous button.
