Driveshaft shop front cv axles price quote.

I just shipped a stock sy/ty cv axle to driveshaft shop in NC. They seem to make the strongest cv axles out there. I'll let everyone know what the quote $ comes back at. I told them my WHP goal was 1200-1500. I'm gonna try and be the guy that finally gets a set of these made. I don't think anyone else has, that I know of. I know several people have inquired, but no one has pulled the trigger.

Mr Syclone use stock CV axles and it's fine.

If I could get oem GM cv axles(discontinued) I would not be looking. I just cannot trust 60$ Chinese axles. With these hp levels. Other guys trying to go fast are going to be in the same boat eventually. So I figured, I'll get the ball rolling, on high quality replacements.

John had his GM ones rebuilt here in Denver for $400 they look great because he was just as worried about the chineese ones!

That's a good price. I'm sure the ones from dss are going to be stupid expensive.
I know there are not a lot of failures with stock ones. But, with the new torsen front diff, there is going to be added stress to the cv joint, that wasn't there before.

That is exactly why John had his redone. I will be watching intently just to see for my truck. Are you going to get special boots made for the front as well? The force on those boots at 160mph has gotta be crazy!

It takes work...but I've found NOS at dealers....just call a dealer and have them run a dealer stock check. Sometimes the selling dealer will make deals on the parts to get them moved off the shelf.:tup:

I'm guessing they will come with a hi performance boot.

I thought about sending a set to GForce to see if they would make a them. They make rear axles for GTOs, and they handle tons of power.

I inquired once and they wanted me to also send them two wheel hubs so they could broach them and increase the spline count. To do the whole thing with shafts was over $2K.

I would like a direct swap part. I contacted them last week, confirmed they had my sample shaft. They said it was broken down and we're looking how they could make a stronger one. I hope to hear from them soon. I'll try after holidays if I don't hear before.
I know these are going to be crazy $ price wise.

Well..... I heard back from Driveshaft Shop. The only thing they can do for me right now, is a stronger bar (shaft) that goes between the 2 CV joints. They said this type of cv shaft and joints, is not like any thing else they have. They did not seem interested in doing anything other then the shaft (300m).
He mentioned something about how small the market for this would be for this part, if they made it. I did not ask about a price for the bar (shaft), because I do not think I'm gonna go that route.
