Well guys, since this will be my first posts in this forum and first domestic to work on i am planning to finish a project that the previous owner started with this 1262 ty.
The guy already threw a lot of his $ in this truck and hopefully i can finish this job accordingly.
Also as I'm not too familiar with domestics so I hope that I can sort things out with the help pictures and information from the forum. I just cant tell what the truck already has!

Lets see how the first picture comes out as i press submit.

They tried to start the engine after assembly without any luck and i got the car into my garage with the help of a tow truck.

After some checks with my tester and the help of the wiring section of the shop manual i found out that the connector on the firewall was the trouble maker. I took it apart and there was a bunch of tar between the connections.
Finally i was getting power in t and voila, ready to start!! At least so i thought.

I then checked with the guy that helped assemble the engine and he told me that ive won the lottery (low purchase price) and that the engine already has a balance billet crank, eagle H beams , JE pistons , brodix heads etc etc. W/ 00000000cero hrs

I then primed the oil, set timing and it did not start, flames though, lots of them.......

At least i got ignition and fuel, then i checked the injector wires and they were flipped (blue was on the left and green on the right), with a smile on my face i started to reassemble the injector wiring and after two turnes that damn thing rumbled so mean that my 750 hp drag civic had its tail between its legs!!!!!

I guess this motivated me to start posting on this forum in order to share my project with you guys. And of course to squeeze a lot of information from you as i really don't know what the hell i bought!!!!

So i will hopefully get some pointers what kind of parts this beast already has .

For starters , appears to be brodix heads with numbers, looked it up and they seem to be some badass heads, any info, took a peak in them and they have some fancy billet rockers , (smile)

Whew, that's a lot of block under that axle. I'd get that outta there and get some drop springs.....or at least a smaller block and give back some ride height.

Where are you located in South America? I have a good friend that lives in Colombia.

The truck has some really nice name brand performance parts. It amazing that its running coolers for the front and rear diff.

Differential coolers are a weird add on, maybe it was supposed to be a road race truck. Odd, but cool

Yeah, i took off the coolers last weekend and began stripping the setup, though this was ready for the road, i just need to be sure all bells and whistles are in their respective places and tighten enough.
I also noticed the cable that runs from the throttle linkage to the transmission is kind of lose and need some info how its suppose to be installed correctly.

Any input would be appreciated !

Thanks for the note ( tv cable) Realized i need to get some reading done ( a lot actually) as these domestics are a whole different story than my small japanese toys I'm used to.

But after a lazy ass weekend wondering how the engine will run and how it will perform, i decided to strip the complete setup / eng/trans and just check all nuts and bolts.

Btw i always thought these domestics are only SEA but i came across a lot of Metric bolts.!

It just doesn't feel right to just start it up and see what happens.
I really hope that this forum will guide me through since i don't have any experience with these vehicles.
So hopefully the best way to get to know this vehicle is to do it myself.
Keep you posted with the updates.

DaveP,
Thanks for your notes,

I will look into the trans issue.

No leg pulling here!
Got this thing for a reasonable deal.
