What could cause low oil pressure?

My pressure is slightly above the half way mark on the dash guage and drops below it when the engine warms. With the drop in pressure comes what I believe is valve train noise (still trying to confirming it). The motor has just been overhauled and was tore down out of concern for the condition...

    Trans checkup

I've got the trans out to replace the gov and thrust washers in the transfer case. Are there any preventive maintenance checks I should do while I've got it on the bench? Keep in mind that my experience with the trans is limited to filter replacement. I've never been inside the body.

    Dm problems

It probably wouldnt be a bad idea to contact TTS before you get too deep into moving files around or reinstalling. If you have to reregister it after a reinstall, the validation number wont be the same. TTS will likely charge you again for a new number but may let it slide if they're aware of...

    TRW pistons and compression ratio

Im running TRW L-2441 pistons with a .030 overbore. Read something on http://syty.org/old/modlist.html regarding the need to "skim" the pistons to bring the compression ratio back to stock "especially with .030 over..". Has anyone had to do this? I could use some specifics before I take them...

Heads. Gasket recommedations and retorque Qs

That may be well for some but, as I mentioned, I'm trying to avoid removing or installing my exhaust with the motor in place. I've got KB headers and have extremely limited to no access to the bolts on the driver side header while the motor is in place. The oil dipstick (as I recall) gets in the...

Heads. Gasket recommedations and retorque Qs

...or yet another radical idea. Dont laugh. This just may work, unless someone can tell me why not.... Leave engine on stand. Remove thermostat and reinstall upper hose neck on intake. Pump hot water (180 to 200 or so) from 10 gal propane fired boiling pot. Circulate it through the block and...

Heads. Gasket recommedations and retorque Qs

I was hoping to avoid having to take my headers, turbo and other interferences off after having just put it all together in order to retorque. Is there a practical and safe way to run the engine on a stand (for initial warm-up) prior to dropping it back in the truck??

Heads. Gasket recommedations and retorque Qs

Are stock head gaskets acceptable for a .030 overbored block? I could also use a suggestion for a head gasket that is least likely to require retorquing.

    Blown head gasket?

3 month old coolant appears to be turning dark in overflow tank. The coolant smells burnt and leaves a residue stuck to the upper half of the overflow tank that does not rinse away as rust or dirt would. No coolant in oil (that I can tell). Lost one pint of coolant in the past several months...

    Faulty PCM?

I used a Raytek infrared thermometer at the base of and on the temp sensor on the lower intake from a 3" range. As you suggested, I will likely replace the TPS - for good measure if nothing else. I wasnt prepared to condem it since the voltage WAS rising with increased throttle. However, to...

    Faulty PCM?

I've been battling performance issues for quite some time and never quite got it right. Detonation to stumbling idle. Recently, while observing boost on DM, I noticed that my mechanical boost gauge did not match what the PCM was seeing. For example, 19 (gauge)=15 (on DM) 15 = 12 10 = 6.8 20"...
