CLOSED NO MORE FOR NOW!

Important Note: The 2nd pipe is left long, this is so you can trim to length depending on what cat you run etc. Its 3" so obviously it won't just bolt up to a stock cat to begin with.

I do not include clamps either, there are several styles and everybody has their own preference.

If you use the last style you will need to slot the lower pipe. Other styles you won't.

If you do have clearance issues (don't think too many did on the last GP and the exact same jigs were used again) loosen the bolts on turbo flange. Let things slide around a bit. Worse case you may have to slot the flange a bit more than I already have.

4th Hole is optional on flange, really up to you if you want to drill and tap your housing.

Installing this without the porting mods won't gain nearly as much, especially in terms of boost control improvements.

Re: 3" stock turbo DP

I would like one with a race dump. How much $? I've only seen the pics of the regular 3" DP, got any pics with the dump?

No dumps this time, best to install and have made/installed on your truck to clear your torsion bars, etc. I just don't have a good jig setup to do the dumps.

Hmmm, I have the RPM Stage 1 turbo, which bolts to the stock DP, but I had to move my DP towards the rear of the truck about 1/2" for it to fit.... can you see this causing a problem with your DP?? I am running AC....

RPM's turbo won't work, sorry.

Need to be a stock turbo or 20g. The flange I have is different than stock.

damn it im out then

Here is why so others know.

You can see he is using an adaptor and the 3 stock location studs to match up to the stock dp.

You can see how my flange is now "oval" and goes over to the service puck on stock turbo. It just doesn't match up with the RPM flange. Add in the 1" movement backwards and 3" pipe just doesn't have room. Stock DP did being so small does.

Here is also how to remove the puck and what it should look like all cleaned up. This is where 80% of the performance increase and boost control improvement comes in.

Notice how now when the wastegate opens the flow doesn't have to make 2 90 deg turns to exit and has its own path to get out -vs- sharing with the exhaust flow.

Also there is a lot more are for the normal flow to exit, going into a 3" mandrel pipe -vs- squished stocker helps.

As mentioned in the old thread http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=42266

Jeremy picked up 8mph in quarter
Christian picked up 5mph with no tune changes.

Granted if you want to go fast a stock turbo or 20g is probably too small. But for those wanting to keep stock style turbo this helps a bunch.

And a nice pic from old GP I did.

This may sound crazy, but can I have the # 10 spot. Send me your address when you would like payment like before. TIA

Re: 3" stock turbo DP

What tool was used to cut out the puck area so straight on the turbo ? And where do I get the new bolts to install one of these down pipes ? Does someone on this forum sell them or are they a common bolt that can be purchased at Home Depot, speed shop, etc?

Re: 3" stock turbo DP

Picture this but in a 4" angle grinder. Thats what I use. Die grinders have a 2" or so cutoff that would work also, if your bored and a lot of time to spare I dremel could I imagine.

Abrasive_Cut_Off_Wheel_Metal_Cutting_Grinding_Grinder_4.jpg.jpg

Original bolts are a 10mm x 1.5 pitch.

If someone wanted to send me an exhaust housing I would cut out the puck, drill/tap and have the housing ready to bolt back on ready to go for $50 and send it all back with downpipe ready to go.

Re: 3" stock turbo DP

Would you send me the pieces not finish welded? (except for the flange and first 90) I have a 2wd truck, and mods to the dp will be necessary, so i might as well cut out a labor step. Let me know, and then I'll decide...

Re: 3" stock turbo DP

I could sell you just the first half that bolts to turbo and goes ~16" or so back. Should work to that point fine on a 2wd.

I've got to sell a few things and pay a few other bills first, but I should be able to in a few weeks...
