I think the business has already shown what they are about. If it can't do something as simple as email a picture, then I can only imagine the run around trying to get the real thing.

well i got news today. and i havea pic. its not the exact hood but the cowl is the same and i think i dig it. its a standard 2" cowl. the pic is of a 88-98 full size hood but in reality not all that different in looks. THIS PIC IS NOT THE PRODUCT WE WOULD BE BUYING, BUT JUST TO GIVE AN IDEA. sorry for shouting.

sorry i took so long. i think i am going to order one at full price. i don't want to have other people order them and not see what they are going to get and be surprised. I hope this works out well. i am calling vis tomorrow.

Probably have to spray it white... The hood will most likely just look like any other carbon fiber part...
I would love to see the Stock style hood in CF as well as the cervini scoop hood (like mine, look at bundie's avatar) and cowl hood....
(ricers tell me you cant paint CF or the paint wouldnt bond correctly or itl be "too heavy" to even bother having it cf in the first place I'm not entirely sure but I call serious bs on tht)
For those race heads out there, I wonder what kind of amazing difference carbon fiber fenders and door shells would make... is it possible? would it be strong enough?
Id love to see a sleeeper sy or ty with all that and painted to look stock haha, what kind of numbers would that kind of weight loss shave off anyway?

Weight loss is not a waste. Any CF that I buy will be painted to match my truck.

Ok, to clear up ANY confusion, it will not be white. they are carbon fiber with clear gel coat. just like any other carbon fiber product. that hood was to show style and nothing else. they are carbon fiber clear hoods with a cowl. unless i get 10 people to buy, they are $600 + shipping of around $150 per ship(can put multiple hoods in 1 package). 10 or more nets $570 + shipping.
I want to order a hood but i would like another local or 2 to purchase a hood with me so my drive to L.A. is not for only A hood. we shall see.

Talked to a friend of mine who makes some cf stuff but i didn't know made hoods. he is willing to make stock style, hinge mount, front pin on style hoods. For around $400, and can throw fiberglass louvers in (Black automotive grade paint) for the same amount. i have not seen the louvers he is describing but he has several to choose from.
The other Vis hoods are obtainable but only after money is sent to them do they get built.
This guy is in San Diego and has a reputable company for off-road stuff. Perry McNeil.
Anyways, i am dropping off my hood to him to see what we can do. I really don't like cowl hoods on our truck and the really serve no function on most. I want either stock style or with louvers of some sort, both will be available.
I may get several hoods at this price. He said the weight should be around 10lbs because he uses some fiber-glass backing on them or something.
I will hash out final details here in the next few weeks. However the best news is shipping will not be as expensive because he ships through Grey Hound and has had no problems with damaging anything he has had shipped through them :tup:

I can run down to SD anytime for reference. Not far for me. I wouldn't mind a hood for 400 bucks! I am still torn between a 2in cowl or a stocker though.
