Re: Power steering pump removal
I can verify that this pulley with the 5 star spokes does in fact work and is the same size and offset. I have that one on my new pump now.
To verify by the way, once you have the pulley off there is 3 bolts holding it to the front of the front bracket, one holding to a small bracket that is attached to the oil lines going to the remote oil filter, then there are 2 bolts attached to the intake manifold and one at the top attached to the bolt that holds the alternator in. There are actually 2 brackets this stupid thing is attached to, 3 if you count the one attached to the oil lines.
It's all back together now minus that stupid bracket behind the pump as it is completely useless and unnecessary, plus I had to bend the shit out of it to get it off the 2 studs sticking out of the exhaust manifolds. No matter which way you lifted up and over it would not come out with all the bolts removed. Anyway, it is a royal PITA if it's never come out before and is still stock. I now have a new pump and pulley and with the new pump I could press the new pulley right onto it as the threads were perfect unlike my rusted out POS. I will say this about it though, it was still working and not leaking, the threads were just so bad you couldn't thread the press into it enough to get the new pulley on.
Here it is on there:
Now to replace that rusty serpentine belt tensioner.
