Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

So you are going to throw in a stock motor? What fun is that?:rotf: Was all of this in your original plans or is simple just a word at this point? The Raspberry and gray or silver what ever it was in your sig you had looked sweet!! I'd rock that any day. I think black may be too much of a contrast but just me:2cents:

LOL yes stock and simple are both part of the plan, I'm not looking to have a balls to the wall truck, I'll leave that to Harmon:) I just want a nice looking relatively reliable (?? LOL) play toy:)

I'm more than likely going to stick with my original color choices (rasp/metallic grey). My issue now is what color to get my rims, I like the gun metal but that might not go well with the grey, I also like black rims hence the black cladding idea........ this has been my hardest decision so far LOL

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

Dads Ty I painted the cladding on this with GM's color code for Argent metallic on their rims to match the Argent Z06's. Looks pretty good but beware GM has 7 different variances on this paint code you need to match them to the rims in the sun. These are really close but I sometimes think I could have gone 1 level darker.

I think I'm going to pretty much match what I got here in the pic, it's a photoshop but it's originally what I had planned. I don't want a big hassle on trying to decide paint

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

I'm tossing around rasp/black as opposed to rasp/metallic gray, what do you guys think?

Too muck contrast, methinks. Medium to dark argent, but not too dark. Little bit of flake in it.
Too much dark against the lighter raspberry won't look right, imo. You don't want the cladding to be the focal point of the piece, you want the Rasp.

Your taste is the one that matters, though.

The black rims with the silver lip look right at home with the silver cladding.

EDIT - grille needs to be body color, too.

I'm starting to agree about the black, I don't want it to look like a puzzle I put together:tup: Guess it looks like I'm going with the original plan. Dig do you suggest color on rims? I really like SY0237's rims, maybe chrome on those?

Keep the rims understated too... black or darker gray. The ones in the pic look good on there.

Did you do the photoshop? It looks pro.
I would match the rims to the cladding and I agree that the grill color should be the same as the body.
At this rate you will be done with yours be fore I even start on mine.

TJ (Phoonty) did it for me. In the pic the wheels are black, I think they drop into the background better because they blend with the tires ...... dunno yet, I have a lot of work to do before paint:tup:

My final decision ........ raspberry only, whole truck....... with maybe these http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Corvette-Wheels/By-Finish/Chrome/18-Corvette-C5-Deep-Dish-p5939428.html

Once again, thank you for all the feedback, it's great to have friends like you guys!

I like those wheels, would you go black, chrome, or color of claddin( assuming the truck does not go all raspberry)? And what color are you thinking if it goes all raspberry?
