I think the time is great and not trying to take that away from him at all, but if he gets the Big Gun banner then everyone else that is a member of this site with a 10sec ride that's not a syty should get it too....Fair is fair. The truck is not a SyTy. The name of this site is SYTY.net not the s10 forum....

You can't use every other car out there to rebuild a Ty, either. You surely can with his truck. It's got 95% of the same, exact parts in it, even. It's closer to being a SyTy than some actual SyTy's these days.

My point is we have to be fair to everyone on this site, I'm not saying that he's not worthy of getting the title, i'm saying it's not a SyTy and if we are going to give out big gun# to members of this site that don't have a SyTy fine, but everyone else w 10sec rides should get one also, parts off Astro vans could be considerd SyTy parts. Would a 10sec Astro van get a SyTy big gun banner?:dunno: Again not trying to bash the guy just thinking about all the other members that have non SyTy rides that have gone 10s and not gotten a big gun#......Not right to me sorry, nuff said....

I agree with Justin, you cant just use every vehicle that has a 10 second time slip, let's be real here. Astro vans are not S or T series trucks, so your argument there is silly (in my opinion, since you are letting your opinion be known).

The only reason this is even a discussion is because it is...

1. 1st Gen T-Series Truck
2. Turbo V6
3. AWD
4. Automatic

The only thing its lacking is a SyTy VIN and the cladding. I'd bet good hard earned money that nobody on this forum would give two shits if someone had a SyTy that was wrecked and swapped everything into a doaner S-Series body and ran 10's with it.

I understand where you are coming from, being a Big Gun already, doing it in a Ty that was born as one, but lets be real when it comes to making an argument.

If this truck doesn't get in, then any of the V8 swapped truck's should be revoked as well. Why? Because they aren't V6's. They are less true to the SyTy Heritage than the damn VIN plate or some plastic cladding, since neither of those help it go down the damn track. Same with 2WD trucks, why, because it was born AWD, it should stay that way.

My vote doesn't count anymore than anyone elses, but it sounds like we need to take a look at what the REAL requirements are to be a big gun and redo them if needed to get rid of these grey areas.

I voted no because there must be defining parameters to warrant that title. This is a SyTy site and if it is not achieved in a Sy, Ty or Sonoma GT (validated by the VIN), it should not count. My hat is off to him for the accomplishment but if you open the floodgates to all 10 second achievers regardless of what they do it in, it is an affront to those who have achieved it in a Sy or Ty (or Sonoma GT).

Your doing a great job with the forum Morgan...This is nothing personal against anyone. I didn't call your opinion or anyone else's stupid. Kinda wasn't called for....

You talked about getting pissed off at people that don't follow the rules, then when people try to follow said rules your still upset....Guess I should have kept my mouth shut. Sorry if you feel this is a personal attack. Its not. We all love these trucks and I'm glad to be part of a small community like this, it's special, which is why I joined. Hope it stays special.....
