Re: Sy # 2047

still haven't gotten it tuned for WOT so although i put about 200 miles on it this summer, haven't been able to actually play with it yet

Re: Sy # 2047

Well I got the truck up to Wongs performance engineering in Vancouver, WA and on the dyno.

It didn't make the numbers i was hoping for but it still did pretty well, runs great and pulls very hard.

we made 343 hp 448 ft lbs

Big Thanks to Tom Wong at Wongs performance and Harmon for getting the tuning all squared away

Re: Sy # 2047

well guys, after 4 yrs and 754 miles i think im gonna sell my baby :(

as you can see everything is top notch and the truck still has all the creature comforts.

i'm not sure yet what i'm gonna ask but if your interested hit me up. i have 4 reciept folders all about 1 inch thick for nearly every nut and bolt that went onto it. and including documentation of the miles clear back to like 99 when the second owner bought it.

Damn, sad to see so much work go into it and see it go. I was really enjoying the build thread but things happen. Good luck with the sale.

Re: Sy # 2047

So for a small update, i traded the truck off to a friend for an 11 sec lightning. that truck was freakin awesome but i missed my truck to much so i ended up trading back

Probably a good idea to trade back. Everyone has an 11 sec Lightning. At least everyone in my house does. :p

Re: Sy # 2047

Hey guys I'm sorry I never get on here anymore. Huge update, I figured out that the ignition control module was bad an was throwing off my base timing. It was nearly 30* retarded. No wonder it didn't make any power over 4500 rpm and was slow as shit. Replaced module, changed plugs, reset timing am took it to the track last Friday, and I'm very happy to say I bested an 11.93 @ 113 on 18psi with afr's in the 9's and the converter locking up to soon in 3rd and really killing my 3rd gear power. Also I have to manually shift because it shifts to soon 4400.

With afr's cleaned up and change the lockup time I see a mid 11 sec pass In this truck!! I accomplished all my goals with this truck, 11 second truck, still retaining ALL creature comforts. Methanol system will be getting installed soon for safety and possibly a big nasty high boost tune

Re: Sy # 2047

I just reread your whole build thread after reading your post in the dead or alive thread. Anytime we lose one, it's a bad day, but even more so with this one. Sorry for your loss!

Thank you for the kind words. It's been a long road to get this truck all together exactly the way I wanted it and so I'm very very sad to see it in its current state. Insurance has looked at it and declared a total loss.....I already knew it would be. At this point I'm hoping the salvage buy back won't be too bad because I would like to keep it, however I don't know that I will build another sy again for a very long time, if ever.

Most of the drivetrain survived, aside from my charge pipe that I was so proud of having built

I also feel very very horrible knowing I was part (even though it wasn't intentional) in the destruction of a very very nice low mileage truck. I keep thinking of all the things I could have done otherwise to try and save it but even if I had just run that animal down it still would have severely mangled the nose, however it would probably still be salvageable and would've gotten fixed. But there's not enough time in that situation to weigh out the options. I think in part, the right tie rod is broken and I'm starting to think when I swerved and got off the side of the road that it caught something and snapped, causing me to be unable to recover from the sideways slide I was in.

At some point I will post pics, but so far it's been too difficult to look at the mangled mess to even take pics.

Thanks to all who gave kind words and advice during the build , I only wish you guys could have seen this truck in person to appreciate all the hard work I put into it.

Re: Sy # 2047

Well insurance has decided not to total the truck, after surveying the damage it's not nearly as bad as they had thought, Yay! The truck will be fixed, but im going to fix it myself so it's gonna take a while to source out cladding and such. I sold all my extra pieces for deals just to cut down on space being taken up, now I wish I had kept most of it. But atleast I get to keep my baby.

Glad they didn't total it and it will be brought back to life!

Let us know what you need to get her back together we probably have most if not all of it. Keep us posted on the progress!
