Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

I have no idea how i missed this thread. Anyways, i am more a carbon fiber guy, could you make a front bumper out of carbon? Also, rear roll pan.

Cali is very well known for fiberglass body work. I know several of the Socal glass manufacturers personally. San Diego area though.

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

Jose is making mold of front bumper starting tomorrow. By next week he should be able to build carbon fiber one. Not sure on price. Check fender thread in a week for his phone number and you can ask him.

I weighed the stock driver side fender the other day with a bathroom scale...21-22 lbs.

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

I was really hoping this was going to happen(the fenders more than the bed since I have a Ty), but I've kinda lost hope since the OP hasn't even logged in in six months.

I like it!

As far as weight goes...I have a Choo Choo Customs "Wildside" fiberglass bed and we figured it was about as heavy as the original bed. http://s10wildside.com/wildside/firstrebuild.htm

If this bed is the same weight, no sense in buying it unless your bed and cladding is ruined..

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

Update for anyone interested.

One bed set, fenders and front bumper built and shipped to Texas I've been told. Another bed set and fenders probably getting made for a guy in Colorado. I will post some more pics of the front fenders on the fiberglass fender thread today or tomorrow. Anyone interested can see the 2 crappy pics in my album.

I have been AWOL since was running for city council in Los Angeles. But now that election is over, I'm putting final touches on my fiberglass front end and will be available more. Sorry for disappearing. In the meantime, best way to hit me up: text to 818-489-5663 or email to caryiaccino@gmail.com

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

Very cool.. Do these have mounts for the inner fender-wells? Also can you post some pics of how the hood hinge will mount?

Why did he use white gelcoat for yours if they were going on a black truck?? I know this makes them easier to paint but chips are going to look awful...

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

He makes parts all day for import stuff and they are almost always white. Since he did them as a favor, he just built them in with a batch of stuff he was building. I wanted them in black, and he did build the parts for the guy in Texas in black.

He said he would sand them and spray some black gel coat, but honestly don't care that much, easy enough to touch up chips in a black vehicle. Told him not too worry about it, cause I want to build the truck undercarriage panels next. Smooth out the bottom of it for better airflow underneath.

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

I'll get more pics of how we did the hood today or tomorrow. And more close ups of hood and grill. Bumper should be mounted by tomorrow, then shoot some black and back on the road.

As for the inner, we left it hollow for a couple of different reasons. I'll explain with all the pics.

Probably a good idea, since I still say that fiberglass bed has a good chance of coming apart at high speed...

i would be in for a set of fenders, and the bedsides to do like the pre runner thing to the bed.

Re: Syclone Fiberglass Bed

Is there any further updates on this post? I am VERY interested in obtaining a bed, fenders and the front bumper as this would certainly be a substantial weight saving when combined. Could you please IM me a way to get in touch with your friend who fabricated the parts?
