Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Got some more work done today on the Sy.

Sprayed my drive and prop shafts gloss black so I can install them tomorrow..

Got some more work done on my hydroboost set-up... Thanks to Don W, I used his idea on using the stock power steering pump line and modifed it by welding on a -6 male AN fitting.. I then covered it with some heat reflective sheathing and installed it..

Installed it and started to mock up my lines:

Got my gas tank ready for its sump:

Capped off my stock fuel lines:

For anyone who was is interested... Here is the prototype adapter bracket that let's you use a unmodified hydroboost booster with the Mattw leveled hydroboost bracket/plate assembly.. My pops made the final one out of Nitro 60 and it fit perfect!!

See ya,

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Installed my fuel tank but like a dumb ass I had the return fitting welded on the wrong side of the filler neck... It now has to come out and be fixed.. Maybe I will make a new sump for the 13 gallon tank and install it...

Here's some pics:

Also started mounting my Dominator under the drivers seat.. Have to make some 1.25" and 1" standoffs to get it sitting perfect..

Here's a pic:

Got my 850 horse PTE A/A intercooler and will be cutting the ends off and welding on the 3" 90's. Goal is to have it less than 40" wide.. Looks like I will end up with less than 39" when it is all said and done.. Will also be making tabs to weld on the top and bottom to pick up the hood latch support holes since the support is going bye-bye. Will also possible be making threaded bungs to weld on the end tanks to pick up the grill mounting locations..

Here's a pic:

More to come....

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Did some more work on the truck today.. I dry fitted the entire RPM exhaust system (headers, downpipe, and exhaust) and man oh man... Its a tight fit.. Will need some massaging to get it all fitting to my standards.. I have 1/4" at the best for clearance between the RPM downpipe and the frame...

My welder finished welding on my intercooler and vavle covers.. Ended up with 39 1/8" for overall width on my A/A.. Here's some pics:

Also installed my sweet 4l80e trans pan.. No more gaskets with this one.. Its has an o-ring for a seal..

Hope you all like it... Stay tuned..

Got lots of my aluminum parts back from my painter/coater... Same glass bead finish sealed with1300* clear ceramic as my other engine parts..

Enjoy..

Close up.. Did the Syclone TB plate with Ferarri red, brushed finish, with the same clear..

Those parts look great.
Does magtech make a trans pan like that for the stock trans or just the 4L80E?

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

How does that non-gasket pan work? Any chance of leaks? I have a TCI pan now and was thinking of switching to a derale pan with the cooling tubes, but now that I see this mag-hytec pan it looks pretty nice. It looks like it won't fit without removing the torque converter cover though.

The new pan has a O-ring.. Teoretically it should seal better than a flat gasket.. I would say to stick with the TCI cast pan... Way better quality in my opinion... I bought a derale pan once.. Thought it was junk and sent it back.. As for the TC inspection cover, I have no idea. I don't have one as of yet.. Stay posted..
