LLoyd, you aready popped smoke??:git:

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. PM me if you want. It's really nice back here in the county. Very nice people and 93 oct gas is $3.03 a gallon. The new truck is now getting 20mpg city and 25-26mpg on the highway. I have to wait until next year to bring the Syclone back.

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Not too many big projects finished recently but I am gearing back up for another big wrenching weekend.. Here's what's been getting done recently...

Version 2 of my boost control solenoid bracket all figured out:

Started building my trans and engine oil cooler bracket.. It will be mounted where the old lower intercooler heat exchanger was and will feature a built in scoop:

More to follow..

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Hey all,

Worked on the truck this weekend... Made my oil drain line and installed my throttle cable and shifter cable... Also finished my trans drip stick install and figured out how to take care of some other fitment and install issues...

Dave P came by and took out the instrument panel (dash) and figured out what wires he would need and what wires could be deleted..

Here's some pics...

Turbo drain line with anti-heat treatment:

Turbo drain line installed:

Throttle cable and trans dip stick:

Version 2 of my boost control solenoid mounting bracket (may or may not keep them here):

And last but not least.... Dave P doing his magic:

A couple steps closer...

Thanks dude!!! I have been informed that the solenoids don't like excess heat... May make a phenolic spacer for it or just move them???

How does DaveP get greasy fingers working on your dash?

Dunno???? Mavbe he was getting the nasty sticky electric tape off and it left black ooze on his fingers????

Im liking that dual solenoid set up.

I know what you mean on the black tape goo. I like to wear gloves when I work on that stuff, I use XL Raven gloves from O'reillys. Yeah the tape sticks to the gloves here and there but its better than having shit stuck to your hands for who knows how long.

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

I installed the fuel pressure regulator tonight.. My pops made a nice machined aluminum plate to bolt it to that even hides three old screw holes in the firewall...

Enjoy...

There are few people one here that when they speak, I listen. Dave is at the top of that list. This is just an example of his abilities and knowledge. His live for these trucks is amazing, and this shows it. Awsome job Dave, can't wait to see Paul's Sy when it's done.

I really like the idea of using a different fuse box and use it under the hood.

Sorry Dave, I remember reading where you said inside, but for some reason was thinking engine bay. Either way, awsome work.

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Worked on the Sy over the weekend.. Mounted my custom battery box assembly that my pops made many years back..

Here I bolted the anodized aluminum plate to the bed of the truck:

Then I put on the Moroso box with machined delrin hold down plate:

And bam.... Completed battery box:

DaveP also stopped by and we got more of the wiring project figured out...

Also cleaned up the Sy a little... Had to let her shine and get some nice SoCal sun:

And here's some other random pics I took... Enjoy:

More to come soon...

See ya,
