when are you going to the track?
Quick question,,what tire pressure is good for BFG drag radials? Thanks
My converter is tight ,,2100 so I do not think I will have a lot of traction problems.
12.42@106 parts is parts.
Parts is parts,,,meaning???
You may have already run as fast as you ever will.
Parts are just parts, they don't dictate performance.
But hey,good luck,have fun.
You won't need BFG's but 20psi should be good. I wouldn't go any lower than that.
i hope your GTAs have the proper offset. :?
Where are you going to race at?? I think you live local and I would love to see it run...
See ya,
That's wierd that you spun Nittos... My Sumitomo standard street tires don't even think about spining and I've got 1.6 60ft before. Also I think the converter with the 60-1 turbo is going to hurt your performance. You should really go to 2600 to 2800 stall converter. Good luck at the track, keep us posted!
I'm going to guess 12.53 at 107
Anyone run BFG drag radials?
The best 60 ft was w/the Nittos spinning a bit & it ran a 1.71
I can tear up the tires even more with the 60-1 wheel installed,,once it goes into boost it gets boost faster than the 20G wheel.
I can launch @ 5,10,15,or even close to 20 PSI,,,,the converter will just stay @ 2100
I do know & need a looser converter,,just trying to see what it can do w/the stocker.
Thanks, for the goodluck.
I will keep you all posted even if,,,which I doubt,,,runs slower.
I have a feeling they are going to kick me off the track. Saftey issues.![]()
I would run 19-20 or so in the rear, front in the 25-26 range.
I'd do the shoe-polish test to determine what you need for a pressure spread, front to rear.
If track temp is below 60, you'll probably need to heat them up. It's generally better to spin 'em a bit anyway to get the staging lane crud off them.
They will stick better than the nittos. If track prep is bad, you'll still have to soft the launch a bit.
Watch the first pass of some of the bigger power RWD cars... if they spin heavy, you'll need to back off too.
The BFGs aren't quite as sticky as the M/Ts, or the Hoosier DRs. They'll still hook better than the Nittos, especially on a cooler track.
