Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

when are you going to the track?

I am going Saturday.

I just drained out the gas tank that had denatured alky for passing smog,,(does not run that good) but ,,good for smog ;)

If all goes well I believe the 60-1 wheel will want more boost.

Well see how the K.R. goes.

Changed the spark plugs one step colder than stock, It runs smooth!!
Also purchaced 2 -12 weld in valve cover breather fittings.
Thanks Mike Lee!!!!

Tomorrow,I will install the BFG tires & GTA wheels,,,remember I shaved off 6-7 lbs off of each wheel/tire assy. That should do something,to make it accelerate faster.;)

Got the A/C charged up to chill the air to water intercooler water, while waiting in the staging lanes.

I am driving the Sy to & from the track.

Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

Quick question,,what tire pressure is good for BFG drag radials? Thanks
My converter is tight ,,2100 so I do not think I will have a lot of traction problems.

Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

You may have already run as fast as you ever will.

Parts are just parts, they don't dictate performance.

But hey,good luck,have fun.

I am very meticulous when it comes to adding parts to my Sy,,If I feel in any way a added part slows it down,,it will not stay on my Sy.

I just hope it stays together while makng this added power & good traction. ;)

You won't need BFG's but 20psi should be good. I wouldn't go any lower than that.

Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

i hope your GTAs have the proper offset. :?

They do not make a GTA wheel with the correct offset.

I shaved off 24-26 lbs by switching over the stock OG set-up. 6-7 lbs from each wheel/tire assy.

I got all four wheels for $100 actually I have 5. With new tires & used wheels I spent $350.00

I did not care too much about the offset I just needed to get lighter wheels than stock for drag racing.

Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

That's wierd that you spun Nittos... My Sumitomo standard street tires don't even think about spining and I've got 1.6 60ft before. Also I think the converter with the 60-1 turbo is going to hurt your performance. You should really go to 2600 to 2800 stall converter. Good luck at the track, keep us posted!

I'm going to guess 12.53 at 107

The best 60 ft was w/the Nittos spinning a bit & it ran a 1.71

I can tear up the tires even more with the 60-1 wheel installed,,once it goes into boost it gets boost faster than the 20G wheel.

I can launch @ 5,10,15,or even close to 20 PSI,,,,the converter will just stay @ 2100

I do know & need a looser converter,,just trying to see what it can do w/the stocker.

Thanks, for the goodluck.

I will keep you all posted even if,,,which I doubt,,,runs slower.

I have a feeling they are going to kick me off the track. Saftey issues.;) Too confident?? maybe, but I like to think positive:tup:

Re: Take a guess what my Sy will run.

Anyone run BFG drag radials?

I would run 19-20 or so in the rear, front in the 25-26 range.
I'd do the shoe-polish test to determine what you need for a pressure spread, front to rear.

If track temp is below 60, you'll probably need to heat them up. It's generally better to spin 'em a bit anyway to get the staging lane crud off them.

They will stick better than the nittos. If track prep is bad, you'll still have to soft the launch a bit.
Watch the first pass of some of the bigger power RWD cars... if they spin heavy, you'll need to back off too.

The BFGs aren't quite as sticky as the M/Ts, or the Hoosier DRs. They'll still hook better than the Nittos, especially on a cooler track.

I couldn't hook up nittos very well either... anything past 7 psi on the launch would smoke 'em.
The Hoosier QTs would take a 12-15 psi launch and just chirp.

NHRA rules allow you to run 11.50 before getting the boot, unless your track has its own rules.
That'd be a tall order, but ya never know.... let 'er rip!

Thanks Dig,

Track temps are I believe ,,supposed to be in the 70's

I also do stagger the front to rear pressures,,works better:tup:

I could'nt pass up buying the BFG's got the set of 4 new for $250.
