My Dad helped out today and removed the A/C bracket and pulled the distributor and lower intake while I was at work. Next is renting a Power steering pulley puller to get that off, then Heads.
Pulled the Pass side Head last night. Almost should've pulled the motor, but my Spare Ty motor is on my engine stand and I'm not in a rush anyways. At this point I can take my time pulling the Cam and such. I will be collecting parts soon and hopefully get some needed parts for Xmas
In the mean time, I can send out my Lower intake to Fivetodrive for a modded Vortec one and Powdercoat stuff.
It looks like it may have been easier to pull the engine....jeesh, did they design it to be a PITA to work on everything on these trucks. I know how it'll look when you're done tho! Good work, keeps me motivated too.
Decided to take the Exhaust housing off to Port the wastegate hole. Pretty big mismatch going to the RPM Downpipe. Not done Porting yet, here's the Before pic.
You stated you are porting the wastegate hole, there fore I thought you are using the internal wasetgate .?

I believe you can have an internal or external wastegate on the turbine housing, did not know which one you have.
Thanks for the links! As stated in the first link, Mike Lee said you can port the hole quite a bit, close to 1.5". I shoulda specified what Wastegate I'm running.

Here's the After pics of the Porting. As you can see, their is still some mismatch but didn't wana go to crazy. Also it was hard to make that flat spot round, which does't look like it'll affect much.
Hard to tell so I'll belabor the point anyways - but you want to make sure you have a nice smooth radius on the inside of that hole. The radius is as critical as the size of the hole.
