Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Trouble shot Dan's Ty for a miss. Found this Taylor wire burned to a crisp. Looks like it wasn't seated all the way and was arcing to get to the plug. Plug had a carbon ring on it around the outside of the ceramic. But all the plugs looked good, nice color, consistant gaps and no oil. Also reattached a bunch of his claddding, many missing screws and bolts. Put it on the lift and did an oil change. The under engine cover was missing so dug out my last spare aluminum one and drilled and mounted it. Any more of them out there, or is anyone going to repop some?

New gas tank, sending unit, Walbro and Racetronix kit. Almost done with the Renzfab e-brake cables. No gas in new tank yet. Just need to put back bumper on and hook hot lead to alternator. Oh, and get gas...Jim

Installed my Inner Fender plates. My dad surprised me for my birthday with these. He made them from 16ga Aluminum, Powder coated Satin black.

Finally swapped in a new distributor. The truck was parked for a month so I took it out and it ran like crap after being fine the last time I drove it. Checked the timing and it was all over the place. When I pulled the distributor, the magnet fell apart in little pieces. Couldn't believe it actually ran. Runs great now with no more tach flutter!

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

wooo! i cut my fender off with a sawzall! haha, i'm stripping my smashed up typhoon, couldn't get to the back bolts and the front inner fender ones were spinning (fender was junk). i had to get it off to get access to the spark plugs. i took all the plugs out, took the master cylinder, abs modual, radiator and washer bottles, tail pipe, and battery box off. i also put battery ends on the cut cables and tried to get it to turn over with the key,(or where the would be if the column wasn't smashed). it doesn't turn over all the way, but now with the fender off i can see that the bell housing is smashed and the torque converter is right against the side, home fully its the tranny stopping it and not the motor! fingers crossed ill find out by the weekend when i cut the rest of the body off! i think ill cut it right behind the fire wall, and just have a dash left on the chassis. Soooo sad, but its for the greater good!

Thats really clean! What paint did ya use?

GM Victory Red Touch Up Paint FTW
GM Black Touch Up Paint as well.

I put a lot on, let it dry overnight and then brushed the top surface to get the sharp transition from painted surface to the aluminum surface.
