Changed the oil/filter. Fixed the broken idler arm and while putting the A2A back in, the jackstand I was using to help balance the heat exhanger smashed down on my hand and I bled all over the place.

Truck is ready for autoX tomorrow.

I'll have the GoPro, its charging right now. Depending on how many runs there are, might play around with some new cam locations.

Bought a new battery. The receipt on the one I took out was stamped 2004. I was tired of trickling it back to life. Noticed I had 2 flat tires.

I like camera positions that show the "horizon". The viewer can gauge body-roll from the angle change of the horizon in the pic. Sometimes it doesn't seem like the body is rolling much. Until you see it in the vid, and the horizon is tilting back and forth more than it felt like it was while behind the wheel.

Have fun.

Tomorrows event is at the Orange County Convention Center in their parking lot. Should be an interesting course setup as the area which we are running is a huge triangle.

If there is time between runs, I'll probably try to do a roof mount, gas tank door mount, headlight mount, and for giggles maybe a hood mount with the cam pointed back towards me. Im curious to see how much shoulder and lateral movement I have when getting tossed on corners.

drove her after doing a water pump and external trans cooler. think i have a bubble in the system cause shes getting hot on the road. i also noticed that when i was filling her up, she would suck the coolant level down and it would go back up when i let off.

Little tip is to fill the system with the thermostat housing and thermostat out. Fill the coolant until it comes right up to the top where the thermostat goes, then install the thermostat and top it up, this way there is no trapped air.

Got my Caltracs from UPS today.

They will go nicely with the beltech springs I ordered and recived, 8 years ago.

Wonder how long it will take to actually install them :rotf:

Remove the heater hose at the intake; or at the core, and hold the end up to let the air in the block escape as you fill it through the radiator. When it will take no more, put hose back on, fill radiator to the brim, fire it up and wait for thermostat to open. When it does, upper hose will get warm, radiator level will drop a few inches. Top-off the radiator, install cap. You're done.

thanks. will give that a try tomorrow.

its crooked! take off, throw away...apply new sticker. thats why i gave you extras.

fyi...take a spray bottle and mist the area you are applying the sticker. remove backing from the sticker and mist the sticky part of the sticker. Then apply to the truck - you'll be able to easily move the sticker around and get it perfect. Flatten against the truck with a credit card / something similar.....mist the application tape of the sticker a lot and it will help release the tape. Pull gently on the application tape and remove....and you're done.
