Jim,
Your garage ROCKS! I have been working on mine for a while and now you have inspired me. If your garage only had a keg draft system you would have all of SyTy.net living in it. :friends:
Drove mine 2,000 miles from Mass to Texas, did the Hot Rod Power Tour 1,200 miles to Wisconsin and then drove it 1,200 miles home all in one week. You can do it no problem, these trucks ride great at 90 to 110 and get 17 mpg.
Dave - what do you want to know. I know both Tom and his kids personally and can get access to the truck if you are looking for something particular. I am actually going 4wheeling w/ them next week. I sent you an email a week or so ago - did you get it?
I just put one of those in my Sy. Don't believe that it will bolt right in, it won't. I had a buddy of mine fabricate a mounting bracket that replicates the stock one but holds the new 2 row aluminum CCHE. It also has a metal removable scoop. Let me know and I can get you some pics of mine...
Thanks Justin. Does anyone make a chip that compensates for my setup + the BBK twin 58mm throttlebody? I am also running a PTE44 turbo in case that matters.
Thanks for the advice Eric. At first I thought that I might have done what you said but it was simpler than that, thank god. It was just me messing up the firing order and mixing up where the even numbered wires go on the cap.
Well it must be in the name. That was exactly what I had done. I just went to downstairs, switched corrected the wires and took it for a ride. All I can say is holy Sh!t. It is like night and day from before. I can't wait to hit the track this Friday. What time are you heading up?
I am having trouble getting my Sy to run right. It idles well but once you start moving it seems to be skipping or missfiring. It also won't build more than 2 lbs of boost at launch. I just put an MSD distributor and 6A ignition in it and have double checked the timing 4 times. It is...
I had the exact same problem with my truck and a clogged cat. The stock cats break up easy and any restriction in exhaust will limit how much boost you can build. If you truck has miles on it and still has the stock cat I would start there.
Well I was there, though I knew nothing about the GM High Tech picture until it was too late. Glad to see other Sy-Ty's there. I was the only one who did the whole Power Tour from Texas to Green Bay. I did run into Jim at the drag strip in Illinois. With any luck I will make the mag even...
I have only recently started dealing with anything Sy-Ty but have dealt with Mike @ RPM and found his service outstanding. Sorry to hear that you are having problems but I would rate Mike as a top notch dealer and that any problem you are having is a fluke.
