If you have not already, you can check with local tow companies to see if they towed the truck. You can give them VIN and the address. I had to do that once to prove a customer dropped off a vehicle to my business.

Yep, been calling the tow boys daily…kind of wished they all spoke together or had a shared database. Sometimes they answer sometimes to transfer me to impound lot or hang up on me. We will see.

I'm wondering if there's a way to search Craiglist nation wide? Just to see what's posted in past few days. I can search ATLANTA and jump manually between cities but wonder if there's a total country search function…?

IMO, print all these out so that you have them for the insurance fight. A lot can change in 30 days.

I can also shoot you a carfax if you want it just for record. Also, if you want a screenshot of manheim, lemme know. Insurance should have access to that, but they may try and play the "i couldn't find any" game with you.

And if they try and give manheim comps on the others that are still in the system, tell them to F OFF because those were over a year ago and they were wrecked ones.

Yeah sure. On Google type "site:craigslist.org" without the quotes, then your search term. You can narrow it down by using the tool for past 24 hrs, last week, ect.

Excellent links and ideas there, thank you sir! I like that NADA page for classics and how it states GMC Sonoma - Syclone. Thing is I've near paid same amount in insurance for the Syclone these years as lower mileage 98 BMW M3 which shows higher value on books.

Definitely take you up on the Carfax - my VIN is 1GDCT14Z7M8800901. Let me know if you want me to PM you an email address.

Will look up Manhiem a little more. I had around 97k miles, brand new rebuilt tranny and rest in great order, just about everything replaced over the years from brake booster, heat core, water pump, injectors, CPU, fuel pump, etc etc - But basically bone stock except for stereo and upgraded dutchy intercooler.

Neato…that works, found that ability under Search Tools to narrow to this past week, very handy….

Wow..this really sucks:tdown: IMO this was definitely an inside job. Meaning how in the world do neighbors not hear a tow truck picking up a vehicle. When I've gotten a truck towed everybody and their grandma looks out to see what all the noise is:2cents: I really hope you find it or get paid for the amount that its worth. I'm rooting for for you man. F----ing thieves!

Yep, and Ive got nosey neighbors…but being gone on vacation for 6 days no one could remember even what specific day it disappeared. They all know sound of truck when it cranks as exhaust is free flow without mufflers and only dampened by catalytic converter.

So far my lessons learned have been, get a camera facing driveway that goes to a hard drive , get Hagerty's insurance or something for classics, and finally don't slouch on where you park your truck so they can't snatch with tow vehicle if you're going to leave for a period of time, aggravating this is...

Quick update…Now August 10th…No truck and no calls from police what so ever, case still open.

Working with State Farm, not the agent but the claims adjuster, awaiting a value. Scanned in all my receipts over the years and fingers crossed. Got the link to NADA classic values and will lean on agent to hope for the best. Will keep all posted on what they offer.

Agreed again with Barrett Jackson on TV this weekend to make sure you get some sort of agreed upon value instead of this route I'm learning now, haggling for something fair,

Pete

Wrong mirrors, gloss cladding.

One of the first things I am going to do is install my little GPS tracker. I am going to weld it into the frame and then hide the wiring, maybe with a reserve battery in there as well.

Fingers crossed mate.

State Farm sucks balls but the OP has his shit together,so I'm sure he will be fairly compenstated,by holding out for his 19-20k.

Alright folks, update and entertainment. Please please please if you haven't yet DO NOT STICK with State Farm. For house, boat, cars or anything...

Phone today 8/27 - With my receipts / photos I brought it up from $1645 to ~$2800 verbally. BUT I believe they are still trying to get the right vehicle Sonoma vs. Syclone…will continue to push. Have to be polite and state " I can't do it without your help" …only thing I've learned to do because if you get mad no help.

(Entertainment) Email chain here from 8/25…

Hi Sylvia,

Sure thing, shouldn't make a big difference (NADA versus Mitchell) …just need to make sure they chose the proper truck model, this is a Syclone not a normal Sonoma…very important, especially since I've been paying a lot more for insurance than typical for a Sonoma, VIN number will verify that,

Thanks, Peter J

They write:
Hello Mr. Jensen,

We no longer use NADA for evaluation. We use a company called Mitchell.

Hi Sylvia,

A follow-up note, we need to make sure evaluation choice correct vehicle, note two choices below from NADA website,

This is a Syclone and not a plain Sonoma,

Hopefully his helps in the question earlier,

They write:
Good Morning Mr. Jensen,

Your evaluation came in and the amount at this time is $1648.51. I am having Andrian to review your documents to see if that amount can be adjusted.

I write after weeks waiting:
Hi Sylvia,

Just checking in to see how it's going? Curious to know if my emailed receipts were helpful and you got them okay,

Thank you for the help :) Peter

Re: My 91 GMC of 13 years Stolen from front of house Atlanta GA

**** that. Ask for the claims supervisor. Tell them if they cant properly value your truck, that you will take them to arbitration or sue them. I have a few appraisal companies if you need them. Thats stupid. Thats not even the value of the damn cladding.

I am shocked. State Farm is usually good when it comes to valuing vehicles. Being nice at first can help, but if they start trying to **** you like they are, dig down and fight them.

Sorry you're dealing with this man. Insurance fights suck.
