Re: Syclone Gut Swap

I installed my body bushings today and aligned my bed and cab on the frame. Now I have everything near perfect with only 1/8" of a variation in measurement from side/side to front/front.

Well here are the pics:

You know what I never really noticed until I watched the movie again, how much Dave looks like the actor Mark Rumsfield from "The Burbs." :rotf::rotf::rotf:

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Well it has been a few weeks (sent on the 17th of May) since I sent the machine shop invoice to John @ Xplicit Racing. I sent it via snail mail, e-mail, and PM. He e-mailed me back the day after I sent it to him and told me that we would finally get this done with. Well I haven't heard a single word since and have called a few different times. The machine shop will be done with the motor soon and I need to be able to pay him.

So just incase, I have started to sell off my parts collection to raise some "extra" money:( If anyone needs any NOS or used stuff check out the for sale page.

I cant emphasize how much I just want to beat the crap out of this truck and haul some ass. The sad thing is, as of now I can only dream about how quick she will be. I have been having some crazy dreams recently and so far I have anhiliated everything I have come up against:rotf:

Man my truck is quick in my dreams.

Anyways its time to wake up now...

Time to make up some kill stories to keep up the morale :D Good luck mate - I share your angst!

Just thought that I would help you out with the 1st one . Your truck is so fast that you left the front Suspension and the wheels at the last intersection. Say, does anyone have some wheels laying around so I can do it again :rotf:?

Your Sy looks beautiful. I wish I had the time to do that with my Syclone, but I want to drive it sooner than later. It would probably take me a couple years to get it the way I want to.

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

With 2" lowering blocks, my Sy rides directly on the bumpstops. Is this why you cut off the original rear bumpstop & bracket and put in the new bumpstops? Have you had your truck on the ground to see how close the axle is from your new bumpstops or tire is from the cladding?

Also, are they stock leafs? And what size blocks? This turned into 20 questions haha. Thanks for the help though.

Post #130 and #131 on page 9 have most of your answers. He hasn't had it on the ground yet though so he won't be able to tell you that. I have the same 2" blocks he has though and I don't ride on the bumpstops with the stock leafs. My stock bumpstop and bumpstop bracket are both intact. Hope this helps.

Helps a ton, thanks. My leafs must be worn out then, because i have no travel with 2" blocks.

Yeah you definitely shouldn't be sitting on the bumpstops if you are running stock leafs. Good luck on the fix!

Sorry Wheels, It looks like Robert took care of you. Thanks baldy:tup:

Been a long time but we are now moving in the right direction. I got my new intake from Mike @ RPM and now I can figure out my head gasket and piston measurements so we can finally get this motor back together and get this thing running.

Anyways here are the pics of the new intake, everything still needs to be bead blasted and coated with clear:

Re: Syclone Gut Swap

Paul, the flange curvature around the runners on the intake. Did you guys reshape and smooth it, or is that they way the B90 brodix comes? Looking good.

Tim,
That's the way they come. This B90 intake is made specifically for the brodix heads, so I am told anyways. Its not like the other brodix/pontiac intakes that are straight across in the flange area. I was also told that the B90 intake is super hard to find, I'm glad Mike found it for me.
