I can't remember 100%, but I think the '89 4.3L Blazer I parted out years ago had a tubular style crossmember, not sure if I still have it or not...

Re: Tyclone ??

I dont get why people keep saying it must be stolen. If its got the floor shift hole for the t case, non syty cross member... then it was prolly just a swap. Usualy stolen trucks just get the vin plates swapped.

Re: Tyclone ??

yup me to I still don't see why mention of it being a stolen truck keeps coming up maybe it hurts that a truck with so many parts was bought for $1650 then for the normal going rate of a clone.

sy1566 I don't know if youre comments are directed at me , but you quoted me 3x I don't understand.

either way its a good deal people are just BUTT hurt they didn't get in on it. great buy Randy keep posting progress Im loving it, I know were there is a $2k priced clone complete and running in FL also just waiting on a couple funds to do so ;)

Hey Sy1566...did you have a truck stolen or something? Is there a member on here that had a truck stolen? Why assume that its stolen? I am new to the group, not trying to bust your balls, but why try to ruin somebody's good deal? Just curious if you have any back up info for your insinuations...

These trucks are easy to steal. It is very odd that someone would take an earlier year truck & transplant entire specialty equipment from a Ty to a standard s-series.
I set up cladding on my extended cab, which was very time consuming, with the mounting hardware properly lined up. Then entire interior and engine. It is easy to pop VIN dash from one truck for another, and without full check, the stolen Sy or Ty now has older VIN and considered a "clone".
We have a page on this site for stolen trucks.:2cents:

But its got a hole in the floor where a floor shift tcase went and im pretty sure they found older model frame stamps. So it wouldnt be a vin swap

Re: Tyclone ??

Bottom line IMHO is somebody bought a wrecked Ty and made their Jimmy/Blazer into a clone.

The JJK core support sticker and the ELC fuse box were the only things I was questioning (oh and the green firewall) but you can swap that stuff.

Too gnarly for a VIN swap,or maybe it was a Ty that had severe undercarriage damage from a wreck and they put a 1989 frame under it.

Randy got a good deal. Nice.

Re: Tyclone ??

Progress today: I replaced the plugs (with UR5's), wires, cap and rotor, as well as draining all the fuel out. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator last night. I also set the timing, which was pretty far off. I removed the cruise control, so the 1989 ABS module would attach to the brake booster again, and I replaced the I/C hard lines with heater hose. I also removed the stock hard vac. lines and replaced them. I still need to clean up that mess of a relay on the driver's side that goes to the fuel pump. It was running like ass, but the truck runs pretty good now after the tune up. Much thanks to DaveP for the help figuring out that the truck has a stock chip, stock 2 bar map sensor, and stock injectors. Now on to the intercooler pump. I think I am going to paint it Black/Black to match my Sy. My buddy that is going to be spraying the paint strongly suggested this. The door handle trim pieces are going to be ditched for sure.

What? The escutcheons scream "This is not an AWD Jimmy ***, but a legit Typhoon"

Those are like the best pieces ever.

Keep the escutcheons. Plus imo, that color is cool. Its a clone anyway, so why paint it black/black?
