First, this looks great - I'm definitely interested in stock setup.
Question regards possible fire potential. A few years ago when the gtp community 'discovered' heat wrap for pipes there were several engine fires caused by something dripping/spilling/collecting on wrapped crossover/header pipes. The solution ended up being a can of spray-on sealer that seemed to prevent the problem.
I'm wondering if that's worth checking into/asking about on this product?
Also, I'd be interested in info on how this is different/better than what's available at jegs/summit?...e.g.

good point...
i asked julio about that before anything...i'm not as concerned for myself as i am more concerned about the rest of the syty community, to be perfectly honest with you...not concerned for my application because i plan on making sure that i have NO oil or fuel leaks in or around that area where the blanket could be soaked...god help anyones engine compartment if he/she has a fuel leak anyway...julio said that this material, just like any other blanket material, will burn if soaked with a flammable liquid and ignited...it will burn until the combustible liquid no longer there to be burned...i would imagine that if the 1" material would at least smolder under the outer cover before bursting into flames...
now what i would personally be more afraid of is if the 1" fiberglass material itself was to fire up with no liquids soaked into it...i addressed that as well and they say it won't happen...thats why he asked for egt temps above...
above you mention fires on the crossover pipe on header wrap...the typical crossover pipe can be leaked on by alot of different things IMO...i dont think i would ask them to do a crossover pipe until the turbo blankets have been more thouroughly tested...i have a fire extinguisher mounted in the bed of my sy....i think anybody that runs a syty with or without a turboblanket, should carry one as well...
whatever anyone decides to do, fire or not, it is his or her choice to begin with whether they put one on or not...i believe i am prepared to handle a potential fire situation if it was to come up being i have a suitable fire extinguisher within reach...
interestingly enough, the driver's side turbo of gregs TT setup above looks to have been oil soaked for a long while, especially if you see it in person, and hasnt fired up yet in alot of miles of hard driving...if you look really close on the pic, you can see it...it looks like its leaking from the oil feed area...
im willing to try this at my own risk if someone could get a PTE setup to this company, i'll be the lab rat for you guys...i think i live in one of the highest temp. cities in the nation besides maybe phoenix FWIW...
anybody have a different opinion on this?
