Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

do you have pictures of the aluminum inner fenders? This sounds like a good idea.

They are super easy to make. Simply remove your fender and trace the shape on to a piece of sheet metal and cut it out.

Mandi, are you doing all of this yourself?

Yes, Harmon will be coaching and helping with the crap I can't do because I'm not strong enough:tup:

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

Just an observation....

Since your plan is to disassemble the whole thing anyway, Mandi, there's a much easier way to get at the stuff in the engine compartment.

Pull the fenders, and the core support/grille.

Then, yank the motor as a whole. It's much easier to get apart once it's outside the engine compartment.

Also, at that point you have less stuff in your way for frame resto.

I'm sure there is a reason Harmon hasn't told me to do it the easy way :rotf:

Day #3
Found some interesting things today...... TWO tranny coolers:rotf: and a block that doesn't look stock:roll:

Today I managed to take out ..... valve covers, intake manifold, buncha wires, tranny cooler(s), grill, fuel rails, cowl thingie mabobber guess thats all for now. I actually seemed to get a little bit more done today since I'm getting better at knowing bolt sizes rather than having to go through each one, I also noticed I'm really messy:tup:

Edit:Forgot the distributor and goodies up on the firewall

Re: Simple Syclone Rebuild

Will someone please get this girl a garage to work in!!!

Ok, heres the deal. The garage already has a sy and ty in it. Mandi was told to hold off on the truck until i get the new garage built { in the next 3 months}. So it was here decision to start tearing it down in the driveway.

DISCLAIMER........I have no way shape or form unscrewed any bolt from this truck. Its all done by her. 1 million questions asked though:rotf:

Personally, If I were in FL right now, I'd be working outside too. Indoors for 6 months gets old.

What are you talking about? I'm sure you've seen it. Mark (sy2206) had it at Nats with the trailer.
